The Puma is a German infantry fighting vehicle (IFV) (Schützenpanzer or short SPz) designed to replace the aging Marder IFVs currently in service with the German Army. Production of the first batch of 350 vehicles began in 2010 and is scheduled for completion by August 2020. A second batch of 210 Pumas has received funding. Mass production began on 6 July 2009. The companies responsible for this project are Krauss-Maffei Wegmann and Rheinmetall Landsysteme, who created a joint venture in the form of Projekt System Management GmbH (PSM). The Puma is one of the world's best-protected IFVs, while still having a high power-to-weight ratio. SAIC offered a derivative of the Puma as its contender in the now cancelled American GCV Infantry Fighting Vehicle program.
The Puma is one of the most protected IFV currently available. It has a welded armor hull with add-on modular armor. It has an option of three various protection levels to suit operational needs. Weight of the vehicle vary from 29.4 to 43 tons accordingly to a protection level. There are some other IFVs that are even heavier, and possibly more protected than the Puma, including a German Lynx KF-41 and Russian Armata heavy IFV. However both of these IFVs are still being developed and so far received no production orders, while the Puma is an operational vehicle, which is being built in significant numbers.
The base model has a front and flank protection against 30 mm rounds, while vehicle has an all-round protection against 14.5 mm machine gun fire. The most protected variant can be considered as a heavy IFV. Additional armor modules can be fitted, increasing Puma's weight to 43 tons. Furthermore in this configuration it it is even heavier than the T-72 main battle tank. It seems that the most protected variant of the Puma withstands 120- and 125 mm projectiles over the front arc. Vehicle also withstands mine blasts equivalent to 10 kg of TNT. The Puma IFV also features an advanced threat warning system. NBC protection and automatic fire suppressions systems are fitted as standard.
Vehicle is armed with a remotely operated weapon station. It includes a Mauser 30 mm dual-fed cannon. This cannon is used on Austrian Ulan and Spanish Pizarro IFVs. It has an effective range of 3 km. The Puma will be armed with an ATGW launcher, however its type is still unknown. Possibly it will be Spike or one of its variants. Secondary armament consists of a 5.56 mm machine gun and a 76 mm grenade launcher for a close-range defense.
The Puma infantry fighting vehicle has a crew of three, while it can accommodate up to eight infantrymen in the rear compartment. Passengers enter and leave the vehicle via rear power-operated ramp. Vehicle is fitted with an air conditioning.
Vehicle is powered by MTU 892

The MBDA Akeron MP (Akeron Moyenne Portée), formerly known as MMP (Missile Moyenne Portée; English: Medium-Range Missile), is a French fifth generation, network-enabled, anti-tank guided missile system. Featuring both fire-and-forget and command guidance operating modes, it also integrates third party target designation for indirect firing scenarios through its lock-on after launch capability for non-line-of-sight (NLOS) use.
AKERON MP is the only 5th generation missile in service combat proven in the world. It has been operationally tested and proven in extreme climates (desert and sub-arctic conditions). The system’s design includes the growth potential necessary for future modern land combat systems.
This unique fifth generation land and naval combat missile system
is the perfect candidate for combat vehicle integration and
dismounted deployment.
- High level of day and night reconnaissance and
identification capability
- Lethality against a wide target set including latest MBTs,
defended structure and group of enemy in the open
- Forget or Man-in-the-Loop capabilities, even at maximum range
- Man-in-the-Loop allowing retargeting, aim point selection and
mission abort in two firing modes:
– Lock-on-Before-Launch (LOBL)
– Lock-on-After-Launch (LOAL)

British L85 Rifle otherwise known as the SA80 has been given a rough time in its time and its time to start standing up for this great service rifle for what it REALLY is. The truth about this rifle is shrouded by a past that it never seems to shake off but the optics is what has really been its struggle even to this day. The Sight Unit Small Arms Trilux is a old and very primative sight to still be used even in training for the British Army today. But why is it still being used as such a old sight in such a modern technology focused army?
The SA80 (Small Arms for the 1980s) is a British family of 5.56×45mm NATO small arms. It is a selective fire, gas-operated assault rifle. Mechanically, it has been derived from the Armalite AR-18, which had been manufactured under license in the UK by Sterling Armaments Company. The first prototypes were tried in 1976, and production ended in 1994. It is due to remain in service until 2025.
The L85 rifle variant of the SA80 family has been the standard issue service rifle of the British Armed Forces since 1987, replacing the L1A1 variant of the FN FAL. The A1 variant was upgraded in the early 2000s by Heckler & Koch as the SA80A2 and remains in service as of 2016. In mid-2016 a prototype A3 variant was showcased which further improved on the weapon and is reportedly being considered to extend the out of service date beyond 2025. The remainder of the family comprises the L86 Light Support Weapon, the short-barrelled L22 carbine and the L98 Cadet rifle.
The SA80 was the last in a long line of British weapons (including the Lee–Enfield family) to come from the Royal Small Arms Factory, the national arms development and production facility at Enfield Lock.

Steel Beasts Pro PE 3.0 In this video I take on a enemy battalion of armor in the desert. The tasking is to push as fast as possible into Phase Line GOLD and destroy all enemy along the way.
The Abrams tank, the Bradley IFV and Humvee's are all part of my battle-group tasked with this mission. Steel beasts is a extremely fun and rewarding game for those who have a strong interest in armor simulation and realism. eSim games has produced this game for a intent of training foregin miliaties for armored combat. Please be aware this "software" is not a game as such and was never designed to be a high end graphically rewarding setup.
That being said it still provides many fun and interesting types of game play and I personally love this PC game.
Watch and see how they do against this formidable enemy force.
Hope you enjoy!
