The Stowers family's sheep farm and organic food buying cooperative Manna Storehouse in LaGrange, Ohio, was raided by a heavily armed team of Ohio Department of Agriculture agents in 2008. The ODA confiscated one year’s worth of family food, food purchased for coop members, computers and all business records.
This raid was preceeded by the family asking local officials about licensing. They fully intended to operate legally, yet those local officials did not respond to their questions. The Ohio Department of Agriculture's only response was to send armed police to shut them down and steal their property.
This is what they do to our farmers. I hope someday we change, and become a people who make this sort of abuse untenable (to say the least).
