How To Know When You Need To Adapt During Your Dogs Training Session
Welcome to Standing Stone Kennels! Not every training session goes perfect, how to know when you need to adapt during your dogs training session to their needs and current ability. In this video we are working on collar conditioning to recall with our german shorthaired pointer Hex, needless to say it didn't go exactly the way we had planned so we changed our direction mid session to where he was on this particular day.

In this video we are working on Rex's trained retrieve, using a drill called walking fetch. The walking fetch drill requires Rex to heal by our side and we drop a bumper behind us. As we turn to walk back towards the bumper we use stimulation on the DT systems 1820 e-collar and say fetch. Rex will pick up the bumper and return to a healing position. If Rex drops the bumper, we can again tell him fetch and use the collar and he will pick the bumper up.
