Let's Play Chuck Yeager's Air Combat - #3 - Escort
"Although it's a good idea to keep the flight at high altitudes anyway because that avoids the ground..."
Flying the P-51. Bomber escort duty this time, tackling a pair of Me-110 heavy fighters guarded by a pair of Fw-190s. Gotta protect those B-17s. ... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zzlv2RhTJKc
This is basically me getting all the important exposition out of the way here so I can go more or less freely into the game. Hope you like it!
After their first surprise hit, Westwood Studios upped the ante with Command & Conquer: Red Alert. A landmark game in the annals of gaming history, Red Alert introduces to the commander all new naval and air units, including strike fighters. All of this is just so great, and it was released right around the time internet gaming was picking up. Back in my day, there were tons of skirmish matches being played all over the globe. Cool or what?
Of course this is not to denigrate the single-player campaign. Westwood rolled all the dice with having an actual Stalin actor. And the cut-scenes are just much more than the original C&C could deliver... really, Red Alert is essentially 'Command & Conquer: More Edition'.
The great thing about Command & Conquer contrasting to other real time strategy games, is that the sides are not balanced at all. The Allies have all the naval ships, the Soviets get all the cool air power, the Soviets have big damn tanks and the Allies... don't? And the base defenses... this game made the Tesla Coil iconic. It is really great in all the ways.
I will be playing through the DOS version because I have the original discs and such, suck it Origin. And man is this gonna be some fun or what!

And you thought the 'Mechs were over...
I have been longing to do this one for a long time, I know I already did a straight playthrough but this will be a lot of fun. This is literally the first PC game I ever played and the game that introduced me to the BattleTech world. We're going to go really deep in here and explore what makes MechWarrior 2 such a classic.

So a lot of people were asking me, L-Ten, how does your mod affect the single player campaign? And so I did it.
The scripts seem to be a little off course. especially in mission 5, it never ended that way in practice. Oh well.
Also Mission 7 sucks so I don't end up playing it well... so maybe I will try that out in the future.
Hey, you guys like my Let's Plays, Longplays, Writing, and other random things I do, right? Maybe you'd consider sponsoring me on Patreon? All I ask is a $1 a month contribution. It doesn't sound like a lot, but if enough of you guys help out it will go a long way. Head over to patreon.com/l1011widebody if you want to help a Trijet out.

Goodbye to Vault 101...
Well it's finally here. Fallout 3. A game that destroyed a company and continues to divide what was once a loyal fanbase even to this day. Was it worth it? Well, we'll find out.
Produced by Bethesda Softworks, best known for the Elder Scrolls series of RPGs, the game is the sequel (of sorts) to Interplay's venerable Fallout series of ground-breaking late 90s RPGs. Fallout 3 takes place in an all-new setting, the Capital Wasteland, and features a first/third-person game engine ala modern FPS. After a false start with 'Project Van Buren' that ultimately drove Interplay to bankruptcy and resulted in the original closure of Black Isle Studios, Fallout 3 was finally released with much fanfare some eleven years after Fallout 2. Was it worth it? Although highly praised upon its release and winning numerous industry accolades and awards, even now the game engenders some resentment from the series die-hard fans.
This will certainly be interesting. This Let's Play has been requested as far back as during my Fallout 2 days. This will be my first official entirely blind Let's Play, as I've never played Fallout 3 (beyond the first hour or so of gameplay) to completion. Every other game I've LPed so far was a game I had extensive experience with, played front to back and otherwise dominated or at least held vast knowledge of. So this will be a new experience for all of us.
Playing the Game of the Year edition from Steam.

The Nyislanders are my fav-orite squadron.
Here it is! Lace up your skates and hit the ice, here we are playing an entire season of one of the greatest hockey games of all time, NHL '95 for the PC. Roster slots filled out by my fans, much thanks to you, NHL '95 for the PC is one of the finest hockey games ever made, with fantastic gameplay, digitized speech, authentic jerseys, and a slick TV-style presentation. Everything you loved about the playability of NHL '94 is ramped up and polished here in NHL '95.
We'll be playing this out in a real-time season (I hope!), so check back for more exciting hockey action. It's like the inverse of Be A Pro -- You're in my game! This should be fantastic and fun. So let's hit the ice!
Since this is back long before Play by Play was a thing in hockey video games, I'm going to do my best to be entertaining as well as providing the coverage as the game transpires. We'll see how that goes... also, check out the custom music I've added, from a diversity of interests, to give it some more authentic Arena Feel. I hope you guys like it!
Quack! Quack! Quack!
