In an exclusive interview with News2share's Lauren Clemence, Joseph Gordon-Levitt (Inception, The Dark Knight Rises, Looper) speaks about why he participated in the People's Climate March. He notes that he'd like his children and grandchildren to have "long and illustrious lives" but that climate change is the greatest threat to that occurring. Mr Gordon-Levitt was one of many notable people attending the march, including Leonardo DiCaprio, Mark Ruffalo and Al Gore.

One America News host Jack Posobiec spoke out Thursday afternoon at the "March for Trump" at the Capitol. He started with a moment of silence for Representative Cummings who passed away Wednesday night and urged cross-partisan dialogue.
He cited the "Roseanne"show as an example, then condemned the impeachment inquiry.

Activists with "Shut Down DC" and the Sunrise Movement used strobe lights, instruments and chants to "wake up Lindsey Graham" outside the senator's house in Washington D.C. to demand he not confirm a replacement for Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg on the Supreme Court until after the 2021 Inauguration.
Some of the activists tried to enter Senator Graham's front yard and knock on the door. Police formed a line preventing most from doing so, and forced one protester who got through off the yard. They did not make arrests.
"He said, 'Use my words against me!'" chanted the activists, referencing Graham's allusion to a situation like this when he was defending not confirming Merrick Garland in 2016.
"I want you to use my words against me," Graham said during a senate hearing in 2016. "If there's a Republican president in 2016 and a vacancy occurs in the last year of the first term, you can say Lindsey Graham said let's let the next president, whoever it might be, make that nomination."
Activists held a banner reading "We Can't Sleep So Neither Should Lindsey" while loudly playing back a recording of his own words from 2016.
“In the spirit of RBG, we will not allow a double standard in how our Congress deals with late-term Supreme Court appointments,” said Aura Angelica, an organizer with Sunrise DC. “Senator Graham told us he wouldn’t allow a Supreme Court nominee during an election year-- he told us to use his words against him if a seat opened up this late in the game-- we’re here today, doing just that.”
"We're using your words against you," wrote an activist in sidewalk chalk in front of the senator's home.
Inspector Robert Glover of the Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) Special Operation Division told an organizer that the protest outside Senator Graham's house was in violation of DC's "Residential Tranquility Act" and that they'd begin arresting if they didn't leave.
He specifically added he'd arrest media at the event as well.
MPD Lieutenant Jason Bagshaw used an amplifier in Inspector Glover's call to issue a first warning to the protesters threatening arrest.
"We will not compromise with a simple-minded racist" an activist replied.
After Lieutenant Bagshaw issued a second arrest warning and ordered protesters to leave southbound, they briefly marched north toward the police, but then turned around leaving the way police told them to.
"You can't stop the revolution!" they chanted. "No justice, no peace!"
"We need a new court," an organizer said as the group marched to the Supreme Court. "We need a court that actually has term limits."
"Expand the court! Expand the court!" the group chanted.
Before wrapping, organizers read out the home address of Kansas Senator Pat Roberts in Alexandria, Virginia, and suggested that he or

The annual Women's March was held today in Washington DC, where participants struggled to remove anti-abortion counter-protesters who often got inside the march itself.
"Pro-life is a lie, you don't care if people die!" they chanted.
As the event began, one anti-abortion activist was blocked as he tried to move into the rally. He ended up on the ground.
"Nobody touched you!" activists said before the man went to the police, with whom he stepped aside.
"Let their hearts beat!" chanted anti-abortion activists as abortion activist Derek Torstensond held a sign reading "Be Gay, Fund Abortion."
Police stepped in between the two sides to form a line.
As the Women's March proceeded, anti-abortion counter-protesters marched inside the event itself, causing some confusion and frustration.
"We've gotta keep chanting, we've gotta be louder!" than them an organizer told the crowd.
"Pro-life is a lie, they don't care if people die!" chanted Women's March participants as they arrived at the White House. "Show me what democracy looks like! This is what democracy looks like!"
"We've gotta tell Joe Biden to get his hands off our bodies!" a speaker said before leading chants of "I believe that we will win!"

Approximately 22,000 demonstrators descended on the Capitol District in Richmond, Virginia Monday to voice concerns over proposed state gun control legislation and to show their support for the second amendment.
A planned ‘Militia March on Richmond’ event coincided with Lobby Day, the Virginia Citizen’s Defense League’s (VCDL) annual petition to state government to maintain their second amendment rights without restriction.
Governor Ralph Northam declared a state of emergency ahead of the event, citing his fear of a repeat of the deadly 2017 rally in Charlottesville. Despite anxiety over the event turning violent, no violence or arrests reportedly occurred during the event.
“This is the safest place in the world right now,” Shane, a gun owner in attendance, said.
Chain-link fencing and security checkpoints separated Lobby Day rally goers depending on if they entered capitol grounds or not. Those entering the capitol grounds were made to comply with a ban on various items and weapons including guns, torches and nun-chucks to enter the enclosed grounds.
Starting before sunrise, hundreds stood in line to enter the grounds, unarmed, to voice their concerns over proposed legislation.
Sheriff S. H. Jenkins said that sheriffs and commonwealth attorneys need to stand up to gun laws.
"There is a line that we will not allow to be crossed when it comes to the Second Amendment," he said.
For demonstrators not on capitol grounds, less restrictions applied. Hundreds openly carried long guns, the most common being variants of the AR-15, which proposed legislation would ban.
Numerous militias, armed and often in full gear, made a presence in the overflowing streets surrounding the Statehouse.
Lightfoot Militia, a civilian paramilitary organization present at the Charlottesville riots, was in attendance. The group marched through the streets with full color guard representing the militias multiple nationwide chapters, dispersing after presenting arms on north tenth street and singing ‘God Bless the U.S.A.,’ by Lee Greenwood.
Chants of “USA USA USA,” “Don’t Tread on Me” and “Sic Semper Tyrannis,” could be heard billowing from demonstrators at any given moment.
Along the many closed roads and street corners pop up shops sold clothing items popular with supporters of President Trump.
“Don’t be a Democrat, get yourself a Trump hat,” yelled one vendor to passersby.
“The man under the sheet wants to take your guns” was a common slogan on many signs, capitalizing on Gov. Northam’s blackface scandal. Official VCDL signs depicted a photo of two men, one is believed to be the Governor in either blackface or a Klu Klux Klan outfit. “We want black owned rifles not black faced governors,” chanted demonstrators.
