For 77 years, Jamaica’s political system has allowed a few wealthy individuals to decide who becomes an elected representative. We intend to change that as we continue our mission to create a Nonpartisan Constitutional Republic of Jamaica that fully respects the sovereignty of every citizen.
But what better way to begin, than to allow Jamaicans to have the choice of who their representatives will be within the UIC?
The United Independents’ Congress will allow any Jamaican citizen to nominate a candidate to represent them in the next local and general elections. Furthermore, any Jamaican who signs up to become a registered member of the UIC will have the opportunity to vote for their preferred candidate in our internal elections, scheduled between December 8th and 10th.
We invite the public to apply by October 23rd for any of the positions above and complete their interview by November 6th in order to take part in the live public debates that will be hosted on UIC Liberty TV.
