So late last week, special counsel Jack Smith decided to put in a court filing requesting a trial date for Donald Trump of January 2nd, 2024, right, the day after New Year's Day. Let's get to it. What the, anyway, only an out of touch lunatic would ask for such a date one day into the New year and maximum election interference with Iowa. Such a trial, which should never take place due to my first amendment rights and massive Biden corruption should only happen if at all after the election. The same with other fake Biden indictments, election interference.
You know, for somebody who maintains his innocence, uh, as much as you do, shouldn't, you want the trial to like get over with as soon as possible? Uh, you ought be going back and arguing like, no, no, no, no. January 2nd. Hell no. Let's get his September 2nd. Let's, let's get this over with. I got debates to not go to, but if you were truly innocent and you knew that you could prove that you would want the trial to be over with before the voting starts in the primaries and caucuses, right? Because if Jack Smith has his way and you basically get convicted right around the time of the Iowa Caucus, which will be January 15th, first in the nation for the Republicans, um, then it's gonna hurt you all down the line. But if you get acquitted, you got the nomination in the bag January 15th. By the way, it should also be noted, um, not only is it the Iowa caucus date, that is actually the start date of the next trial that Donald Trump is facing from Eugene Carroll.
So he's gonna have a busy gen, he's gonna have a very busy 2024, not just with caucuses and primaries, but also of course with all of the trials that he's going to be facing. His Manhattan trial, by the way, is still scheduled to begin in December. So he would go right from Manhattan prosecution to federal prosecution to Eugene Carroll civil suit, and then later down the road, probably the Georgia trial. And then of course, judge, uh, uh, Cannon's trial that she set for the end of May, because, you know, let's let all the voting end and then when it's too late for Republicans to do anything, then we'll convict him. So she kinda screwed the pooch there,
There all the other prosecutors are like, let's just do it. Let's make it happen. And Trump is so, like his statement too, like, only an out of touch lunatic would ask for such a date one day into the new year. Like, I'm sorry, but by January 2nd, holiday's over, bro, everybody's back to work, including federal courthouses, including federal prosecutors. Now, this was a former South Carolina State representative Chip Hawkins ran into Ainsley Earhart, you know, co-host of Fox and Friends. She was actually in South Carolina for some reason to get an honorary degree from the University of South Carolina. Not sure why that happened. Uh, not sure how she earned it, but sure, whatever. So she runs into Chip Hawkins at the diner, and here's the exchange that took place. Earhart asks, he loves this country, right? Chip Hawkins is behind me, uh, might recognize him. Uh, he was a representative for South Carolina, now works for our university. Go Gamecocks. So Chuck, what do you think about Donald Trump? You know, totally average American, right? Former state representative works at the university where you just got your honorary degree. Yeah, yeah. Nothing smells fishy about that at all, right? Ainsley. But anyway, Hawkins goes, you know, I think he is absolutely the best man for the job. We need some strength in this country and we need it quickly. Earhart asks, what about these trials and what they're doing to him? I'm sure you feel sorry for him too. Hawkins goes, it is just absolutely a crucifixion. It's awful. And I can't imagine what he's going through, pray for him every day, and we just hope he can stay, stay the front and win this battle and go over the goal line and take this country back. Yeah.

So as we all know, Marjorie Taylor Greene a week ago actually introduced a motion to vacate the speakership, which would effectively if passed remove. Mike Johnson is the current Republican speaker of the house. And Republicans in the house are not happy about this because they understand that we're only gonna have a one vote majority and it would be very easy if we're not all together for the Democrats to win that simple majority vote and put a Democrat as the new speaker of the house of course, because Marjorie Taylor Greene introduced this like the moment re uh, the house went on recess for two weeks. We still have at least another week before this issue even comes up. Marjorie Taylor Greene may, you know, remove it. However, she's actually indicated that she wants to handle this behind closed doors and still remove Speaker Johnson. So the likelihood of her removing it probably not gonna happen.
But the Democrats this week did something exceptionally stupid. They have suggested that they might be willing to save Mike Johnson's speakership if he cuts a deal with them. I'll tell you what the deal is in a minute and, and, and it's a deal. It's like I kind of support it. But at the same time, the overall plan is also still very dumb. Now the Democrats wanna bring a massive Ukraine aid package to the floor. It was already passed by the Senate. They just need to pass it in the house. So what they're telling Johnson is you bring this to a floor vote so we can get this passed and get the aid to the people of Ukraine who do desperately need it. I'm not against the aid package at all, but at the same time, you don't need to make a deal with the devil to get that done.
I mean, you could let Johnson get removed, understanding that Republicans will not be unified in picking a speaker. And if you get like two or three defections, then we get a Democratic speaker of the house, then you bring the aid package to the floor, we pass it and we get the power right? Like why would that not be your go-to why are Democrats always coming from a position of, well, we'll make some concessions and not, do you know what we could do if you'll just do these things for us? Grow a pair for God's sakes. You have the opportunity to do not only something politically wonderful, but also hilarious, which is to have a Republican majority but a Democratic speaker because those idiots can't get all their ducks in a row. So why are you already suggesting we'll compromise, we'll negotiate. No, you have all the power. Don't
Use it to immediately try to concede, instead flex that muscle. And if it doesn't work the first time, then say, okay, we'll take a step back, then we'll negotiate, but stop trying to make concessions before you've even tried to do something bold. That is what is just infuriating about the Democratic Party. So much like you have a golden opportunity here to actually do something good to help the country and before you even have the chance to make a move, you're already trying to make concessions.

Over the weekend, it was revealed that Ron DeSantis forced local officials in the city of Tampa, Florida to take the blame for his campaign, not wanting people to bring guns into his election night victory party. This past November, the Washington Post obtained the emails between the DeSantis campaign, the convention center in Tampa, Tampa officials, and of course the Florida Department of Law Enforcement. And what they determined was that, hey, DeSantis is a big strong supporter of the Second Amendment. So he can't be seen as the guy telling his fans, you can't bring guns into this building when I'm here. So we need the local officials to say that that's your policy, not ours. Now, the local officials did attempt to push back because they said in these emails like, listen, we get it. We understand that it's probably not a good look politically, but at the same time, we have to abide by Florida state law, which now includes open concealed carry, which means you don't have to have a license to bring a gun wherever the hell you want to bring it here in the state of Florida.
Owen, by the way, your guy did that, Ron DeSantis is the one who passed that law, and now you're telling us the city officials that we have to take the blame for telling people that they can't do the thing that Ron DeSantis says they can do because Ron DeSantis doesn't actually want them to do it. That's what happened, and ultimately, city officials took a little bit of heat for it, but it turns out most of the folks who did show up there understood that it was Ron DeSantis infringing upon their Second Amendment rights, even when he has fought so valiantly to expand them. So here is what this story actually means. It's not just about Ron DeSantis wanting to not, uh, you know, hurt himself politically by banning guns from his event. It's what that means. It means that Ron DeSantis, like most people in this country, understands that more guns equals more trouble, and that you can never know when one of these people who's now allowed to do a concealed carry without a permit here in the state of Florida when one of them might be somebody who wants to do something dangerous, deadly or stupid.
Ron DeSantis understands that, but he signed the law anyway because it's red meat for his conservative base. But when it comes to implementation of it, he understands how dangerous and crazy that piece of legislation is, and he didn't want the people benefiting from it anywhere near him on his election night Victory party. Folks that they don't want the crazy people to have guns either. They don't want guns around them wherever they go because they know how dangerous it is. Do, as I say, not as I do, is the theme with these Republicans because they know more guns equals more deaths. That's a simple statistic that anybody can look up. It's right there in black and white. More guns equals more gun deaths, but these Republicans like DeSantis are gonna continue to pass these laws, flood our streets with more guns because they think it helps them politically, and to an extent, it certainly does. But when it comes down to it, you want to go to one of those Republican parties, you want to go to a Republican fundraiser or a big Republican group's event, you better leave that gun in your car because you're not gonna be able to get it past security.
