Titrating a polyprotic acid with a strong base produces a pH curve with as many equivalence points as there are acidic protons on the acid. When we have a positive unit and a negative unit, they add up to zero. We call that a zero pair. Let's use integer chips to represent the number -2, but not just with 2 negative chips. This will open the door for us to add and subtract with negative numbers.

Sal interprets an elaborate limit expression as 5 times the derivative of log(x) at x=2. This way, he can evaluate the limit using differentiation rules instead of directly analyzing the limit (which is hard!).
