X (Twitter): https://twitter.com/sebcryptotrades In today’s video we are going through how I transitioned and switched from trading retail concepts over to smart money concepts or ICT Concepts. Switching over to ICT concepts is not going to be easy after all, I was trading using retail concepts such as RSI for such a long time that removing those indicators seemed so unnatural. When making the switch from retail concepts or pattern trading using bear and bull flags and other commonly used indicators it becomes important to just remove them all from the very start, this is both for a mindset switch and for an overall switch from one concept to the next. Keeping your old indicators will only encourage bad trading habits which don’t work when combined with SMC (Smart Money Concepts). Starting from a fresh slate is the best thing you can do as it allows you to channel all your trading focus into learning and trading with ICT concepts. One of the main issues that most people face when making the switch is not knowing where to start and not applying their learnings, most people will learn and not apply which is one of the worst things you can do, even if you haven’t got much experience starting off early with a paper trading account and backtesting your trades can be super important when it comes to learning. After all, smart money concepts aren't super easy to learn and can take traders years before they get funded and become consistently profitable. To fast track that journey you just need to start trading. When making that switch over, it’s also important to weigh up whether it makes sense to trade, if you're profitable with retail concepts or pattern trading does it make sense to switch over, after all there is no point fixing something that's not broken. Going through your previous trades and understanding if you're profitable with pattern trading is key and then making a list of pros and cons to understand if you should switch, which is one of the best things you can do. If the pros of switching to ICT concepts outweigh the cons then making the switch to SMC/ICT is the path to take.
