No Man's Sky uses Vulkan (instead of DirectX) natively so it runs perfectly on Linux with Proton!
Frontiers is the latest update to the game. It adds lots of sundry enhancements with the biggest being new random settlements found in populated galaxies!
The Centurion Nano is a Linux Laptop produced by Alpha and runs AlphaOS.
Full disclosure: I was sent this Centurion Nano to review by Alpha themselves. However, the opinions expressed in this review & video are my own.
Overall, this laptop is a really solid little machine and a decent value for the non-technical Linux user. For the more technical Linux power users out there, better deals can be found by shopping around for sales and installing Linux yourself.
My biggest complaint about the laptop was battery life. A full 7 hours of life is advertised but I got closer to about 4.5 hours. Maybe if you used really aggressive power-saving measures such as keeping the display brightness down, you could squeeze 7 hours out.
The build quality and the overall look & feel of the laptop is probably my favorite thing. It's super solid and looks great. The previous laptop I had (even before the Litebook) was an HP Envy and this Centurion Nano blows that out of the water.
The processor is an Intel i5 7200U and it's freaking awesome. I was stunned by the performance in games, considering it's a relatively low-clocked dual-core processor.

Egee and Teal finally discover land and attempt to make peace with the tenants. The group later finds a desert temple with a mine underneath, and stake out a place to call home.
As we work through this mini-series I am realizing how outdated my Minecraft knowledge is. I'm glad I brought Teal along on this trip!

- There's way more cuts than usual because I had encoding issues

Genie is a language developed for GTK and compatible with the Vala & GTK API. In fact, it uses the same API that Vala does.
Vala is the programming language used by the ElementaryOS team to develop apps. Since Genie and Vala use the same API, the same apps could be written in Genie.
Genie uses the Vala compiler and does not compile code into machine code. Genie code is compiled to C code with GTK Gobject libraries. The C code is then compiled to machine code and used to produce an executable.
Genie and Vala are mainly used for developing GTK apps however there's nothing technically preventing it from being used for any other application.

I'd been using KDE Neon full time for the past month and it has been a pretty interesting experience.
In the first video on this channel, I was running KDE 4 on openSUSE Factory. The upgrade to KDE Plasma 5 really turned me off from KDE because it seemed so buggy. Some bugs were bad enough that Kwin would crash and only a restart would bring it back.
After that, I bounced around on GTK based desktops for a while and delved into GTK development. I probably stuck with ElementaryOS the longest of all the distros.
I revisited KDE with my "Why Is KDE So Buggy" video and I was really impressed without smooth and stable it was. So impressed that I decided to retire my beloved ElementaryOS for a month and try out KDE Neon. I'm very pleased I did.
You can also get the full Linux KDE experience by using Kubuntu, Linux Mint KDE, or Antergos KDE. KDE Neon is just the semi-official distribution of KDE by the KDE team.

In this video we pit ElementaryOS 0.3.2 vs #Ubuntu 16.04 using the #opensource Mesa driver and my #AMD R7 360.
I decided to do something a little different with this benchmark and use the old Unigine Tropics demo, and a War Thunder benchmark. Under the Fglrx driver, War Thunder has major graphical issues which is why I haven't used that benchmark in a long time.
It should surprise nobody that Ubuntu 16.04 came out ahead in this benchmark. ElementaryOS 0.3.2 is still based on Ubuntu 14.04 which means an older #Linux kernel and older drivers all around. Despite that, the benchmark results weren't bad for ElementaryOS.

The start of a new year seems like a great time to show you my Linux desktop and some of the tweaks I make to it.
It's pretty much vanilla Debian Testing with a very minimal KDE Plasma Desktop. I'm using X Server and PulseAudio instead of the leading edge stuff like Wayland and Pipewire.
