Co-Stars Share Passionate Impromptu Smooch at SAG Awards.

‘COVID’s over, I guess!’ one fan noted on Twitter.

There’s celebrating a win, and then there’s REALLY celebrating a win, and actors Jamie Lee Curtis and Michelle Yeoh fell into the latter category at the Screen Actors Guild (SAG) awards in LA on Sunday night.

The film in which they star, Everything Everywhere All at Once, won four awards at the pre-Oscars awards night, including an Outstanding Performance by A Female Actor in a Supporting Role gong for 64-year-old Hollywood veteran Curtis.
So excited was Curtis by her win that she leapt out of her seat, grabbed Michelle Yeoh’s face in her hands and planted a passionate kiss on her mouth, sending the internet into meltdown.

“I’ve been waiting for something like this!” one person wrote when the footage was posted on Twitter.

“What is the tea on this?” wondered another.

OMG, just wow,” one Twitter user added.

“COVID’s over, I guess!” joked one.

“I think Jamie Lee Curtis should get to host next year’s Oscars,” another said.

An emotional Curtis took to the stage after the smooch and encouraged the crowd to chant “Michelle Yeoh!”

“Michelle Yeoh, I love you, I love you, I love you!” Curtis said as the camera panned to her co-star, who was crying.

Yeoh, 60, was also a winner on the night, taking home the Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor award, edging out Cate Blanchett for her role in Tar.

Everything Everywhere All at Once also won Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture, and Ke Huy Quan won the Best Supporting Actor award.
The SAG Awards, the only awards show dedicated solely to actors, is seen as a good indication of the favourites for the Oscars, which take place on March 13.

Both Curtis and Yeoh gave quote-worthy speeches, with Curtis cheekily referring to herself several times as a “nepo baby” - her parents are Golden Age of Hollywood stars Tony Curtis, who died in 2010, and Janet Leigh, who died in 2004.

“I got my SAG card when I was 19 years old when I signed a seven-year contract to Universal Studios and starred in an ABC TV series called Operation Petticoat, which my father, Tony Curtis - nepo baby! - starred in,” she said.

Elsewhere in the speech, she said: “I know you look at me and think, nepo baby, and I totally get it! But the truth of the matter is I’m 64 years old and this is just amazing!”Yeoh also gave a spicy speech, accidentally dropping the F-bomb as she became the first Asian woman in SAG history to win the best female actor gong.

“I think if I speak, my heart will explode,” she said.

“I thank you for your love, for your support because I know I am up against titans,” she said.

At one point, overcome with emotion, she stepped away from the microphone and blurted out a “s***” and a “f***” as the audience laughed.

“This is not just for me, this is for every little girl that looks like me,” she said after regaining her composure.

“Thank you for giving me a seat at the table because so many of us need this - we want to be seen; we want to be heard.

“And tonight you have shown us that it is possible.
