De acuerdo a este pacto de gracia, el Señor trata a Su pueblo como si nunca hubiese pecado. Prácticamente, Él olvida todas sus ofensas. Él trata a los pecados de todo tipo como si nunca hubiesen existido; como si estuviesen completamente borrados de Su memoria. ¡Oh, qué milagro de gracia! Dios hace aquí algo que en ciertos aspectos es imposible para Él. Su misericordia obra milagros que trascienden en mucho a todos los demás milagros.
Nuestro Dios ignora nuestro pecado ahora que el sacrificio de Jesús ha ratificado el pacto. Podemos regocijarnos en Él sin miedo de que sea provocado a ira contra nosotros por causa de nuestras iniquidades. ¡Vean!, Él nos pone en medio de los hijos; Él nos acepta como justos; Él se deleita en nosotros como si fuésemos perfectamente santos. Incluso nos pone en lugares de confianza; nos hace guardianes de Su honor, depositarios de las joyas de la corona, mayordomos del Evangelio.
Nos considera dignos, y nos da un ministerio; esta es la prueba más excelsa y más especial de que Él no recuerda nuestros pecados. Incluso cuando nosotros perdonamos a un enemigo, nos toma mucho tiempo confiar en él; juzgaríamos imprudente hacerlo. Pero el Señor olvida nuestros pecados, y nos trata como si nunca hubiésemos errado.
¡Oh alma mía, qué promesa es esta! Cree en ella y sé feliz.

Among the Redeemed
Lo, the people shall dwell alone, and shall not be redeemed among the nations. Numbers 23:9.
Who would wish to dwell among the nations and to be numbered with them? Why, even the professing church is such that to follow the Lord fully within its bounds is very difficult. There is such a mingling and mixing that one often sighs for "a lodge in some vast wilderness."
Certain it is that the Lord would have His people follow a separated path as to the world and come out decidedly and distinctly from it. We are set apart by the divine decree, purchase, and calling, and our inward experience has made us greatly to differ from men of the world; and therefore our place is not in their Vanity Fair, nor in their City of Destruction, but in the narrow way where all true pilgrims must follow their Lord.
This may not only reconcile us to the world's cold shoulder and sneers but even cause us to accept them with pleasure as being a part of our covenant portion. Our names are not in the same book, we are not of the same seed, we are not bound for the same place, neither are we trusting to the same guide; therefore it is well that we are not of their number.
Only let us be found in the number of the redeemed,
and we are content to be off and solitary to the end of the chapter,

Deja que las pruebas bendigan
“Sabiendo que la tribulación produce paciencia.”
Romanos 5:3.
Esta es una promesa en su esencia aunque no lo sea en su forma. Tenemos necesidad de paciencia, y aquí vemos la forma de obtenerla. Es sólo mediante la práctica que aprendemos a tener paciencia, de la misma manera que nadando los hombres aprenden a nadar. No podrían aprender ese arte en tierra firme, ni podríamos aprender paciencia sin tribulación.
¿Acaso no vale la pena sufrir tribulación con el objeto de alcanzar esa hermosa ecuanimidad de mente que quietamente se somete en todo a la voluntad de Dios? Sin embargo nuestro texto expresa un hecho singular, que no es de conformidad a la naturaleza, sino que es sobrenatural.
La tribulación en sí y por sí obra petulancia, incredulidad y rebelión. Es únicamente por la sagrada alquimia de la gracia que es llevada a obrar paciencia en nosotros. No trillamos el grano para aplacar el polvo: sin embargo, el flagelo de la tribulación hace esto sobre la era de Dios. No sacudimos a un hombre para darle descanso, y sin embargo, así trata el Señor a Sus hijos.
Ciertamente esto no corresponde a la manera humana de hacer las cosas, sino que redunda grandemente para gloria de nuestro infinitamente sabio Dios.
¡Oh que la gracia me conceda que mis tribulaciones me bendigan! ¿Por qué habría de querer detener su agraciada influencia?
Señor, yo te pido que quites mi aflicción, pero te suplico diez veces más que quites mi impaciencia. Precioso Señor Jesús,

What Sanctifies Our Offerings?
And the priest shall put some of the blood upon the horns of the altar of sweet incense before the Lord.
Leviticus 4:7.
The altar of incense is the place where saints present their prayers and praises; and it is delightful to think of it as sprinkled with the blood of the great sacrifice. This it is which makes all our worship acceptable with Jehovah: He sees the blood of His own Son and therefore accepts our homage.
It is well for us to fix our eyes upon the blood of the one offering for sin. Sin mingles even with our holy things, and our best repentance, faith, prayer, and thanksgiving could not be received of God were it not for the merit of the atoning sacrifice. Many sneer at "the blood"; but to us it is the foundation of comfort and hope. That which is on the horns of the altar is meant to be prominently before our eyes when we draw near to God. The blood gives strength to prayer, and hence it is on the altar's horns. It is "before the Lord," and therefore it ought to be before us. It is on the altar before we bring the incense; it is there to sanctify our offerings and gifts.
Come, let us pray with confidence, since the Victim is offered, the merit has been pleaded, the blood is within the veil,
and the prayers of believers must be sweet unto the Lord,
