Lebanon's descent into ruin is not a new story and is not a problem unique to or originating from Lebanon. Liberal governments allowed mass migration in the prosperous post ww2 era. As more migrants moved to Lebanon, the economy expanded. The linear thinking of liberalism led them to believe is a few migrants are good, more is better. But as more migrants came, they formed their own enclaves. These became political factions. Eventually, these factions tore the country apart. Governments spent vast sums of money for little to show for their efforts. With little to no chance to ever repay, the country defaulted on debts, borrowed more to make repayments, and the corrupt global financial system took advantage of the government desperate to cling to power than act responsibly. While some blame lies with the people wanting more from the government, ultimately, it lies with the political movements and the attitudes of those who seek political power and those who back them. Adding to Lebanon's woes is the UN. Within the UN is the unaligned movement, a faction of nations who aim to make the UN into a global government-backed by China. Just like the British Empire, China is using trade, ports and rail to expand. Only the debt, high unemployment, and economic collapse that comes with rapid growth are more immediate than in the 1800s. The American founders recognised the need for limits on government power and the people to be sceptical. But as liberalism has dominated governments of the world, not just the US, the desire for stable economic, social and political regions with self-rule based on ethnic states has been replaced by the liberal's governments hungry for global power by the liberal imperialist.
