Spotify announced that they will no longer pay royalties to low performing artists. Most artists on Spotify, about 80%, get fewer than that 50 monthly listeners, so it is likely that they're streams won't count anymore. Spotify also claims they will be cracking down on streaming fraud. UMG and Deezer made a deal with similar terms recently as well. Is this good or bad for artists? We argue it out.
