Hey, everyone! Here's the first of a three-part conversation with Christopher Hilton, author of an excellent book about late-eighties metal: The Rise, Fall, and Rebirth of Hair Metal!
And, I know, you hate the term "hair metal." I DO TOO! So does Christopher, in fact. But it's a term that lets you know exactly the period and exactly the type of music under discussion. (Don't worry: he and I talk about our mutual distaste for the term "hair metal" in one of the interview segments!)
Now, I know a lot about late eighties metal. Really, far more than anyone would ever care to hear. But Christopher leaves me in the dust! He knows not just a lot, but A LOT about the music, its history, and its current state.

Well, anyway, I'm performing my first, pretty much all-over mod, swapping out the trem, the pickups, the wiring, the string trees, filing down sharp fret edges, and so forth. And getting the new trem bridge into the guitar has been a magnificant pain in the butt! If you don't know how to do it, then watch along for conformation that *I* don't know how to do it, either!
