How to Watch Nigeria Super Eagles vs Sierra Leone Live – 2023 AFCON Qualifiers
The match will be played on Sunday the 18th of June by 5pm Nigerian time at the Samuel Kanyon Doe Sports Stadium in Liberia.
#NGASLE #SLENGA #afcon2023 #afcon2023q #soarsupereagles
Just get a point against Sierra Leone and secure qualification to the 2023 African Cup of Nations which will be played in 2024.
Take a look at the group standing, Guinea-Bissau top the group with 10 points from 5 games, Nigeria second with 9 points from 4 games, Sierra Leone third with 5 points from 4 games as well while Sao Tome and Principe are bottom with 1 point from 5 games.
There are 12 groups in this qualifiers, and only the top 2 teams from each group will qualify for the African cup of Nations to be hosted in Ivory Coast by January 2024. Hence, Nigeria need at least a draw in this game to guarantee they qualify for next year’s AFCON and a win to take us back to the top of the group.
Our star player, Victor Osimhen is currently the top goal scorer at this qualifiers alongside Sadio Mane with 5 goals from 4 games.
The Super Eagles started this qualification campaign in June last year against Sierra Leone with Nigeria winning that game 2 goals to one. Sierra Leone scored first in that game before Iwobi equalized and Osimhen scored the winning goal. Our next game was a whooping 10-0 victory away against Sao Tome and Principe, our third game was a 1-0 loss to at home to Guinea Bissau, and out fourth game was a 1-0 win in the reverse fixture against Guinea Bissau.
Sierra Leone on the other hand started with a 2-1 loss against Nigeria, followed by a 2-2 draw against Guinea Bissau, followed by another 2-2 draw against Sao Tome and Principe, and in their fourth game they defeated Sao Tome and Principe away from home 2 goals to nil in the reverse fixture.
So far, Nigeria have scored 13 goals and conceded only twice from 4 games, while Sierra Leone have scored 7 goals and conceded 6 times from 4 games.
After this game, Nigeria will then play Sao Tome and Principe in the final game of the Qualifiers.
Let us see if our talented players like Victor Osimhen, Chukwueze, Awoniyi, Iwobi, Moses Simon, Joe Aribo among many others are able to find their rhythm against Sierra Leone. I expect a tough match, Sierra Leone also wants to qualify for the 2023 AFCON, so they won’t make it easy for the super eagles.
If you want to watch the game live online, it will be shown live on AfroSports live, you can also watch live on Super Sports on your DSTV and GOTV.
You can also follow the livescores update on the social media pages of the Super Eagles.

Nigeria Super Falcons Vs Australia – Match Preview & Predictions – 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup
The match is scheduled for Thursday, the 27th of July to be played by 11am Nigerian time at the Suncorp Stadium in Milton, Australia.
After the first round of games, Nigeria Super Falcons are the only African team to avoid defeat at this year’s women’s world cup, with Zambia, South Africa and Morocco all losing their first group match.
And its about time for Nigeria’s Super Falcons second group game against the Matildas of Australia the co-host of the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup.
As it stands right now Australia top the group with 3 points, defeating Republic of Ireland in their opening group game by a goal to nil, Nigeria Super Falcons on the other hand are currently third in the group with 1 point after playing a goalless draw against Canada in our opening game.
Only the top 2 teams in this group will advance to the knockout stage, so a win in this game for either team would be so significant. Based on our head to head record, Nigeria have only played Australia once at this competition back at the 2015 Women’s World Cup in our second group losing 2 goals to nil against the Maltildas. But can the Super Falcons step up and shock the co-host this time around?
Funny enough, Nigeria Super Falcons have played the host 4 times in pervious FIFA Women World Cup, and we have lost every time, in 1999 and 2003 against USA, in 2011 against Germany, and in 2019 against France. This time around, for the 5th time they will be hoping to turn this around against Co-Host Australia.
This is Nigeria’s 9th Appearance at the FIFA Women’s world cup and our best performance was as quarterfinalist in 1999, Australia on the other hand are making their 8th appearance and their best performance was also as quarterfinalists in 2007, 2011 and 2015. At the last edition in 2019, both Nigeria and Australia exited the competition at the round of 16.
A win for Australia will take them to 6 points and this guarantees them qualification to the round of 16. The Super Falcons would also be aiming for a win which will take them to 4 points, above Australia and also increase our chances of reaching the knockout stage.
Since 2007, Australia have always qualified out of their group. But they always come second, they have never won their group. Nigeria on the other hand have only qualified out of the group twice, in 1999 coming 2nd and 2019 finishing as one of the best 3rd placed team.
Their star player Sam Kerr who scored 5 goals at the last world cup will be missing this game due to injury, but regardless, Watchout for Tottenham player Kyah Simon a player of Aboriginal Australian descent who scored 2 goals the last time they played Nigeria, also watchout for Steph Catley the Arsenal player, Hayley Raso the Madrid Player, just to mention a few.
I know Australia, the 10th ranked team in the world are favorite against Nigeria, the 40th ranked team. However, regarding my predictions, I see Nigeria Super Falcons defeating Australia 2 goals to nil. This is the game to play your best, I know Australia will enjoy support from the fans playing at home, but I know if the Super Falcons are solid in defense, and we take our chances, we can get the victory in this game. The goal would be to avoid defeat.
You can watch the game live on Super Sports on your DSTV or GOTV if you’re in Nigeria. The match will also be shown live online for free on AfroSports.

Super Falcons of Nigeria Knocked Out of 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup by England at the Round of 16
#fifawwc #ENGNGA
The Three Lionesses of England overcame a significant challenge to advance to the quarter-finals of the Women's World Cup, managing to secure victory against Nigeria 4-2 on penalties despite the setback of Lauren James's red card. Throughout much of the match, the European champions were outperformed by their opponents and seemed to be heading for an unexpected early exit from the tournament after James received a direct red card for a foul on Michelle Alozie. The possibility of England experiencing their earliest World Cup elimination in two decades was a real concern.
However, England's fortunes took a turn when Georgia Stanway missed their first penalty kick. Following that, Bethany England, Rachel Daly, Alex Greenwood, and Chloe Kelly all impressively converted their penalties, leading England to move on to the quarter-finals where they will face either Colombia or Jamaica.
On the Super Falcons of Nigeria side, substitute Desire Oparanozie and then Alozie failed to find the target with their first two penalty kicks. Notably, this victory marked the first time that England has ever emerged victorious in a penalty shootout at a Women's World Cup.
