The journey towards a mission, a purpose that transcends the ordinary, often begins with uncertainty. In such moments, when the path ahead seems unclear, the concept of “walking by faith” becomes significant. Time can easily pass us by. Before we know it, a whole morning or afternoon is wasted. What is even more wasteful is when we use the time for worldly purposes, disregarding God's will for us, and pursuing what the world wants us to be and do instead of obeying God. Let us redeem our time and use it wisely to the glory of God.

The Limits of Our Strength | By Pastor Bong Baylon | RLCC
12 Many bulls surround me; strong bulls of Bashan encircle me. 13 Roaring lions that tear their prey open their mouths wide against me. 14 I am poured out like water, and all my bones are out of joint. My heart has turned to wax; it has melted within me. 15 My mouth is dried up like a potsherd, and my tongue sticks to the roof of my mouth; you lay me in the dust of death. 16 Dogs surround me, a pack of villains encircles me; they pierce my hands and my feet. 17 All my bones are on display; people stare and gloat over me. 18 They divide my clothes among them and cast lots for my garment. (Psalm 22:12-18)
By nature, we all tend to rely on our capabilities to navigate the many challenges in our lives. We often believe that we are strong enough and wise enough to overcome. But then we find ourselves in situations that are beyond our capacities. God allows this by His grace so that we will recognize our need for Him.

27 After this, Jesus went out and saw a tax collector by the name of Levi sitting at his tax booth. “Follow me,” Jesus said to him, 28 and Levi got up, left everything and followed him. 29 Then Levi held a great banquet for Jesus at his house, and a large crowd of tax collectors and others were eating with them. 30 But the Pharisees and the teachers of the law who belonged to their sect complained to his disciples, “Why do you eat and drink with tax collectors and sinners?” 31 Jesus answered them, “It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick. 32 I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.” (Luke 5:27-32)
People need to know the Lord. But often we Christians huddle among ourselves inside churches. Very few of us are willing to go outside of our comfort zone to reach the lost. The lost will not, of course, go inside our churches. They would feel unwelcomed or out of place. So, the lost remain lost while we feel guilty for not saving them. We Christians must initiate the process. We must go outside of our comfort zone to reach out and save them.

Main Idea: “To save the lost, we must go outside of our comfort zone.” (“Para maligtas ang naliligaw, kailangan lumabas sa ating komportableng kinalalagyan.”)
How can we go outside of our comfort zone?
Three Ways
1. Don't judge people by their branding (vv.27-28).
2. Be willing to make friends with people different from you (vv.29-30).
3. Go to where people need the Lord (vv.31-32).

Even though we may be sure that a certain soul movement is from the Lord, we may still examine the timing of our response. Discernment is still necessary in such cases.

Hindrances to Faith | By Pastor Bong Baylon | RLCC
Date: Oct 27, 2022
Text: Luke 16:14-18
The good news of the kingdom of God is being proclaimed today and everyone is being invited to believe in Jesus so that they can enter into it. But not everyone is willing. They know it would involve some radical changes in their lives and they are not willing to do that. We need to understand what is hindering them.

The Slow Process of Forgiveness | By Pastor Bong Baylon | RLCC
Text: Psalm 32:1-11
We all sin. There is no doubt about that. But often we do not experience a sense of true forgiveness from the Lord because we do not understand the slow process of forgiveness. It is true that the Lord wants to forgive us readily and without difficulty. The blood of Christ is sufficient for the forgiveness of all our sins immediately. But rushing toward forgiveness may not help us truly experience the healing grace of God. We may need to allow the Holy Spirit to apply the grace of God slowly through the process of forgiveness.

It is important for us to remember that attending church on Sundays is just the beginning of our spiritual journey. We should not settle for simply going through the motions, but rather, we should strive to set meaningful spiritual goals that align with God’s purpose for us. By doing so, we open ourselves up to being vessels that God can use to bring about His glory in this world.
