Mastering Balance & Boundaries - Metal Element Qigong for Autumn
Hello there!, here's another 25-minute Qigong sequence for the Autumn season - focusing on Metal element themes of finding balance and creating boundaries.
We start by opening up the joints to enable the free flow of qi then explore the polaritues of yin and yang connecting with Heaven and Earth to nourish and harmonies our system.
Following that, we play with balance and embody the Crane with its elegance and ability to gain clarity by rising above the fray.
We finish with some suitably sharp metal movements to cut away energetic debris and draw up clear boundaries to protect the energy body.

Here's part 3 of my introduction to Winter Qigong for the Water element, focusing on nourishing our kidney energy.
In this 20-minute flow we nourish the kidneys with kidney breathing and tuning into our internal energy by Turning the Water Wheel.
We stimulate our kidney meridian and bladder channel with some Animal Snake Play and some movements from Wuji Hundun series to clear the energy field, restore energy to the body and draw energy into the Dan Tien.

This is one of my favourite Qigong movements, sometimes called Serving Teacups or Spinning Mandarins. Grab a couple of non-breakable items to balance on your hands while you practice, I am using little saucers so I'm calling it 'Flying Saucers'! It's a great sequence that works the whole body, either as a warm-up, a cool-down, or a standalone workout. You are really working the legs and glutes, waist, back, and upper arms and it's excellent for joint mobility and brain training. Internally we are stimulating several organs and meridians but most notably the Pericardium /Circulation Sex which relates to the circulation of energy from the organs to the periphery and has a particular emphasis on the sex organs. It restores and regulates kidney yang energy and works to harmonise and balance both fire and water / Yin and Yang. Energetically, it can also help release stuck emotions. There are several different versions which I will introduce you to, I will be practicing this and trying to get a bit better at it all Summer. So why not take up the Flying Saucer Challenge with me and let me know how you get on in the comments! It's even a fun one for the kids to try if they need a bit of holiday entertainment ;).

Hello! How are you all doing? It's still cold & wintry (here in the UK) but that Spring Yang is rising and it's quite common to feel a little more angry and frustrated than usual!
This very quick and easy 5-minute sequence will help channel this nascent Wood energy as it starts to build in our system. These movements will help process strong emotions and soothe the Liver Qi.
