How Political is Too Political?
Program Air Date: Sunday, December 30th, 2018 – 9am
News Radio 930 WFMD in Frederick, Maryland
The previous show looked at intramural questions facing the Christian church. This show the focus turns to intermural questions, again using the National Day of Prayer as a case study. How inclusive should it be? For example, should people of all races be invited? Both sexes? Don’t worry, the questions get harder! What about those with divergent sexual “orientations” or “gender identities”? How about people who don’t have legal standing to be in the United States? Or skinheads and white supremacists? Or “militant tree huggers”? These examples are offered “tongue in cheek”, of course.
The panel:
Troy Skinner. 930 WFMD Host/Moderator of The Faith Debate.
Jonathan Switzer. Past-President of Frederick’s Evangelical Ministerial Fellowship, Founder of “Frederick 48”, Founder of Crossroads Valley Church, and most recently Founder of BRIDGES: Connecting needs and resources in Frederick County.
Dr. Eliezer Valentin-Castañón. Senior Pastor at Trinity United Methodist Church in Frederick.

What It Means to Be Under the Authority of Government
Faith Debate: February 7th, 2021
News Radio 930 WFMD in Frederick, Maryland
During 2020 (and in the years since) Romans 13 has been possibly one of the most misunderstood and misapplied passages in Scripture. Other passages, too, but especially Romans 13. How does a follower of Christ obediently live a life subject to the governing authorities? What are the limits of applying this text? What is the fullness of applying the text?
Outside restrictions placed on hold the typical Faith Debate roundtable discussions. Instead, we aired the “Lockdown Tapes – Round Two”. (“Round One” aired in the spring of 2020).
The panel:
Troy Skinner. Pastor of Household of Faith in Christ.

Want to know what is meant by the terms Postmillennial, Premillennial, and Amillennial? Knowing these things will help you understand the various biblical Christian views of what are called the End Times, the Last Days, and the Apocalypse.
It's also helpful to know what is meant by Dispensationalism, The Rapture, and the Great Apostasy. Not to mention Pre-Tribulationist, Mid-Tribulationist, and Post-Tribulationist. These are all labels used in the study of the end of time as we know it; in other words Eschatology.
All of this is covered in a conversational overview during this one video.

Path that Brought a Congregation to Leave the SBC
Faith Debate: November 1st, 2020
News Radio 930 WFMD in Frederick, Maryland
There's a movement within the church that's gained influence in recent decades. The movement has increased power in recent years, and it came to a pivot point for the life of Christ’s church within the past couple of dozen.
A theological liberalism is appearing to win the day even in traditionally conservative enclaves such as the Presbyterian Church of America, the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod, the Free Church, and the Southern Baptist Convention. James Pittman is the pastor of a Southern Baptist church in the western suburbs of Chicago. He, along with his congregation, almost left the SBC in 2019. What happened and why? We begin to shed light on those questions in this episode.
The panel:
Troy Skinner. Pastor, Household of Faith in Christ.
Jonathan Switzer. Founder, Crossed Bridges.
James Pittman. Pastor, New Hope Community Church in Illinois. (And host of the “For Such a Time as This” podcast).

Fear versus faith. Perspective and reality. Church buildings closed. Divide over Romans chapter 13. Quotes for encouragement. Words of challenge.
During the shutdowns spurred on by the coronavirus outbreak, a series of Faith Debate shows were recorded in April. They feature comments, arguments, and thoughts first articulated in February and March of 2020. These shows are intended to stimulate thinking, provide reason for hope, and stand for truth in love. These episodes might be best considered as “time capsules”, given that the content was developed during the onrushing of the storm (February/March/April) but aired after much changed (May/June).
There is purported to be an ancient curse that says, “May you live in interesting times.” These times are interesting, indeed.
