This is a side series that I have wanted to do for quite a while. Just chatting about some games that mean a lot to me/recommendations to check out. First episode is on a very early day PS2 title called WINBACK: Covert Operations. This is a bit of a long one, so have some coffee or tea or something, sit back, hang out, and relax ??.
Man, I was not feeling strong at all today. Ques felt off, unracking game was really off, etc. However, my MIND wanted to excel. Despite everything, having 110 percent confidence makes all of the difference. The hardest part was just unracking the bar, but the rep itself went just fine. I just realized that you can't quite see all of the weight on the bar, particularly the 2.5 Kg plate at the end. That is unfortunate. I AIN'T NO LIAR, THOUGH. 120 Kgs MINIMUM is coming this year ??.

At the end of the day, no matter what life throws your way, YOU are in charge of your own destiny, and how you choose to carry yourself, and view your life/situation. Life can get tough, and there are many attributing factors that can affect your mood/outlook; but ultimately YOU have the power and control over your perception of your situation/life, and the mindset that you adopt in relation to it. Stoicism is a virtue. A healthy headspace is incredibly important for progression and success ??

I really had to push myself to do this session, hahaha. Every now and then, my neck and upper back muscles get super stiff and sore, and cause a lot of neck pain/discomfort (I think I really need to get new pillows, lol) I was planning on going for 150 Kgs as my Top Set, but I figured I shouldn't be too foolhardy in my current state, and go for a small 5 kg PR. I have lots of room to push with High-Bar squatting, so it's all good. As of posting this video, my neck is pretty much back to normal, so no worries.

I was thinking of taking a deload this week, but how about a 1RM TEST WEEK INSTEAD???
This went WAY easier than I expected. It actually went faster/easier than my warmup rep with 67.5 Kgs. LET'S GO! ONWARD TO 80 KGS! AND ONE STEP CLOSER TO 100! ??

Getting back to some good ol' Paused Squatting! Weight felt a tad heavy, today, but hey, it's paused reps; they are going to be br00tal regardless, lol. I think this may be the most weight I have ever done to date with Pausing; so not too bad, all things considered.

I was so bummed about missing the opportunity for a new rep PR, I thought I would try for it again. I rested about 8-10 minutes, and then gave it another go. My performance overall was much better this time. However, my strength was drained by that point, and it became clear I was not going to hit seven reps. The fifth rep was grindy, so I figured there was a good chance I would fail on the sixth, so after a bit of deliberation, I decided to not take the risk, and rack it. Getting five reps with depleted strength is still not bad, though. It is an encouraging sign that 100 Kgs is becoming easier and easier. That 100 Kgs for ten reps will be MINE one day ??

In spite of being really tired and hungover, I am pretty happy with this. I was supposed to do a Top Set of RPE 8, and I felt like pushing myself. Even then, I think this was under RPE 8, as I think I could have grinded out at least another 2-3 reps. I descended just a bit too fast on the second rep, I think, but no biggie. Something to keep in mind though, for the heavier weights, for sure.
