I believe it is the Heat Pad getting hot.

But it ONLY stays lit for about 15 seconds on the setting I want.
Not much time!!! Not Much Point!!!
I believe it uses a microprocessor/ Microcontollor to control everything.
In the day time, this light uses the Solar Cell to charge the battery as well as to detect day and night
Possibly with some reverse engineering this could be reprogrammed e.g. adjust brightness, timing, etc..
