Petter Northug Jr. (born 6 January 1986) is a Norwegian former cross-country skier and double Olympic champion. He won a total of 13 World Championship and two Winter Olympic gold medals with 20 medals overall (two gold, one silver and one bronze at the Olympics, 13 gold and three silver at the World Ski Championships), and 18 individual FIS Cross-Country World Cup wins with 13 podium places. He is also the record holder for most stage wins (13) in Tour de Ski. By winning his ninth gold medal in the Nordic World Ski Championships in 4 × 10 km relay in Val di Fiemme 2013 he leveled[citation needed] the achievement of Bjørn Dæhlie who had been the most successful World Champion male skier up to that point. He is considered by many as the greatest cross country skier of all time.[1]
He is expected to work as a commentator of skiing, on channel TV 2 during the winter of 2021/2022.[2]

At the 2010 Winter Olympics, Pärmäkoski finished 26th in the 30 km and 53rd in the 10 km event. At the FIS Nordic World Ski Championships 2009 in Liberec, she finished 37th in the 10 km event.
Pärmäkoski's best World Cup finish was second in one of Tour de Skis events in 2011. Pärmäkoski also was a member of the Finnish team in the 2011 World Championships in Oslo. Her best individual finish was fifth in 10 km event. She also won silver in the team sprint, and bronze in 4 × 5 km relay.

Simen Østensen (born 4 August 1984) is a Norwegian cross-country skier. He skis with the club Fossum IF.
He finished third in the 2006-07 Tour de Ski. Before that, Østensen had started in a World Cup race only once (the 50 km in Holmenkollen in 2005, where he did not finish) before.[1]
Østensen won the test event in the team sprint at Liberec, Czech Republic on 17 February 2008.
