We went on a two day canoe trip down the milk river in southern Alberta. Milk river flows through writing on stone provincial park. This river is full of beautiful scenery including many hoodoos and the canoe trip has a shack halfway with a wood stove at Poverty rock that you can stay at and warm yourself up. Paddling this river can be challenging due to low water levels, so best to go in early summer. Canoeing Alberta is one of Nature Daddy Collectives favourite ways to see southern Alberta. This canoe trip was one for the books. We camped along Milk River for one night and made our way through writing on stone provincial park.
