Daily intake of God’s word is essential for the spiritual growth of Christians. It provides guidance, teaches valuable principles, and deepens their relationship with God. Yet, many Christians neglect this vital practice.

12 One of those days Jesus went out to a mountainside to pray, and spent the night praying to God. 13 When morning came, he called his disciples to him and chose twelve of them, whom he also designated apostles: 14 Simon (whom he named Peter), his brother Andrew, James, John, Philip, Bartholomew, 15 Matthew, Thomas, James son of Alphaeus, Simon who was called the Zealot, 16 Judas son of James, and Judas Iscariot, who became a traitor. (Luke 6:12-16)
The most important task of spiritual leaders is to develop other spiritual leaders. Unless this is done, the work of the Lord will not continue. Having activities in the church that are only designed to make people busy will not produce these types of leaders. It must be done intentionally, creatively, and skillfully. How do we develop spiritual leaders? Let's learn this together.

Main Idea: Spiritual leaders don't just happen. (Ang mga espirituwal na tagapamuno ay hindi basta-basta nangyayari.)
How do we develop spiritual leaders?
Four Principles
1. The need for prayer (v.12).
2. The need for preparation (v.13).
3. The need for processing (vv.14-15).
4. The need for pruning (v.16).

Perspectives in Ministry | By Pastor Bong Baylon | RLCC
14 I myself am convinced, my brothers and sisters, that you yourselves are full of goodness, filled with knowledge and competent to instruct one another. 15 Yet I have written you quite boldly on some points to remind you of them again, because of the grace God gave me 16 to be a minister of Christ Jesus to the Gentiles. He gave me the priestly duty of proclaiming the gospel of God, so that the Gentiles might become an offering acceptable to God, sanctified by the Holy Spirit. 17 Therefore I glory in Christ Jesus in my service to God. 18 I will not venture to speak of anything except what Christ has accomplished through me in leading the Gentiles to obey God by what I have said and done— 19 by the power of signs and wonders, through the power of the Spirit of God. So from Jerusalem all the way around to Illyricum, I have fully proclaimed the gospel of Christ. 20 It has always been my ambition to preach the gospel where Christ was not known, so that I would not be building on someone else’s foundation. 21 Rather, as it is written: “Those who were not told about him will see, and those who have not heard will understand.” (Romans 15:14-21)
Every Christian is called to some kind of ministry. Each of us is to serve the Lord according to the gifts that God has entrusted to us. Not serving in ministry is tantamount to rejecting God's will for us. It may take a while before we can find the right ministry for us, but we must begin where we are. More importantly, we must have the right perspectives in ministry. Serving the Lord is not as important as knowing why we are doing so in the first place.

Is it possible to be spiritual in spite of your busyness? Those who are busy seem to think that it's an impossible task. But there is a way to pursue a spiritual life that can alter the imbalance of a busy life. We can learn that from the story of Zacchaeus. (Luke 19:1-10)

Signs of a Wasted Life | By Pastor Bong Baylon | RLCC
4 Not so the wicked! They are like chaff that the wind blows away. 5 Therefore the wicked will not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the assembly of the righteous. (Psalm 1:4-5)
Sometimes people are not aware that they are wasting their lives. They continue living as if God does not exist or He does not matter. Consequently, their lives are on a spiral downwards. It's important to notice the signs of a wasted life so that we can turn and repent before it's too late. In His mercy, God wants us to turn to Him and surrender our lives to Him so that our lives will not end up wasted.

How Leaders Succeed | By Pastor Bong Baylon | RLCC
1 The king rejoices in your strength, Lord. How great is his joy in the victories you give! 2 You have granted him his heart’s desire and have not withheld the request of his lips. 3 You came to greet him with rich blessings and placed a crown of pure gold on his head. 4 He asked you for life, and you gave it to him—length of days, for ever and ever. 5 Through the victories you gave, his glory is great; you have bestowed on him splendor and majesty. 6 Surely you have granted him unending blessings and made him glad with the joy of your presence. 7 For the king trusts in the Lord; through the unfailing love of the Most High he will not be shaken. 8 Your hand will lay hold on all your enemies; your right hand will seize your foes. 9 When you appear for battle, you will burn them up as in a blazing furnace. The Lord will swallow them up in his wrath, and his fire will consume them. 10 You will destroy their descendants from the earth, their posterity from mankind. 11 Though they plot evil against you and devise wicked schemes, they cannot succeed. 12 You will make them turn their backs when you aim at them with drawn bow. 13 Be exalted in your strength, Lord; we will sing and praise your might. (Psalm 21:1-13)
The key to successful leadership is dependence on the Lord. Leaders are always faced with great challenges. They need to trust in the Lord and not in themselves in order to succeed. It's tempting to just rely on our own strengths, wisdom, or efforts to accomplish our goals. But without the Lord, leaders will not succeed.

Demotivation can be a symptom of various mental health issues, such as depression, anxiety, or burnout. It can negatively impact a person’s overall well-being and functioning. Demotivation can lead to a lack of interest, energy, and motivation to engage in activities, including those that are essential for daily life. It can also affect productivity, relationships, and the overall quality of life. When we’re not motivated or concentrated, everything seems to be two or even three times harder. We need to understand demotivation and how to overcome it. There are three main causes of demotivation, and we can find in the Book of Psalms at least three passages that can help us overcome each of them.
1. Lack of Purpose (Psalm 138:8)
“The LORD will fulfill his purpose for me; your steadfast love, O LORD, endures forever. Do not forsake the work of your hands.”
O Diyos, mga pangako mo'y tinutupad mo ngang lahat, ang dahilan nito, Yahweh, pag-ibig mo'y di kukupas, at ang mga sinimulang gawain mo'y magaganap.
This verse expresses confidence in God’s faithfulness and His commitment to fulfilling His purpose for the individual. It acknowledges that God has a plan and that His steadfast love is enduring. This can provide reassurance and a sense of purpose, knowing that God is actively involved in guiding and fulfilling His intended purpose for our lives.
2. Lack of Praise (Psalm 18:20-24)
“The LORD has dealt with me according to my righteousness; according to the cleanness of my hands he has rewarded me. For I have kept the ways of the LORD; I am not guilty of turning from my God. All his laws are before me; I have not turned away from his decrees. I have been blameless before him and have kept myself from sin. The LORD has rewarded me according to my righteousness, according to the cleanness of my hands in his sight.”
In this Psalm, the writer acknowledges that God recognizes and rewards individuals according to their righteousness and faithfulness. It highlights the belief that God sees and acknowledges our actions and character, and that there is a sense of divine recognition and reward for those who stay faithful to God’s ways.
3. Lack of Peace (Psalm 27:1-3)
“The LORD is my light and my salvation—whom shall I fear? The LORD is the stronghold of my life—of whom shall I be afraid? When the wicked advance against me to devour me, it is my enemies and my foes who will stumble and fall. Though an army besiege me, my heart will not fear; though war break out against me, even then I will be confident.”
This verse emphasizes the confidence and trust that comes from relying on the Lord as a source of strength and protection. It conveys the belief that even in the face of negativity, hostility, or enemies, one can find courage and overcome fear through the assurance of God’s presence and support.
Conclusion
1. Central Idea: "Our motivation must come from the Lord and His revelation."
2. Looking for motivation in ourselves or from other people will surely end up in frustration and demotivation. We must find our motivation in God's word, which is always reliable.
3. This week, immerse yourself in God's promises so that you can overcome demotivation.

Practicing solitude has a dual purpose. It allows us to find rest in the Lord and engage in a spiritual battle against the enemies of our soul. Instead of running away from these adversaries, we confront and engage with them. Our inner world is often controlled by the distractions of the world, as we pay more attention to them than to God. To break free from this cycle, we must address these distractions and intentionally carve out a quiet space to be with God. In this peaceful retreat, we can confront the lies that hinder our deepening relationship with God and strive to know and love Him more fully.
