I have a used Flex 1500 SDR. It worked really well right out of the box and only took about 30 minutes to setup. So far I am very pleased.
I am having one issue though. When I use the NB to wipe out noise (and it does a great job) there is some latency or lag after transmit. It appears it takes the NB about 1-2 seconds to pick up.
Take a look a this video. I hope it's shows it well. I have a little pop (click) on tx and rx. I'm looking into that also.
Thanks for looking, best wishes, 73 and good DX - Rich K0PIR

If you have used MacloggerDX with Fldigi you may have run into trouble and need some help. One issue is Fldigi logging to MacloggerDX and the other issue is push to talk (PTT). Below I’ll show you how I have helped others.

Bird Model 4411 wattmeter with 4410-3 element for HF up to 1kW. I have always wanted one of these Bird wattmeters. Just didn't know what madel to get and if it would be worth it. I think it will, especially since it can be used in the field easily.

Prepping Software For POTA Activation -
1. Choose a logging software - In this video I use Lo4OM. It is an excellent logging program and very easy to setup for POTA activations.
2. Configure the Gridsquare - Find your gridsquare by using a popular phone app, Ham Square. Enter it into Log4om. You may also enter the city state and county. I sue another app for that in the video.
3. Other software - I will be using WSJT-X and I want to put the correct grid in that software.
One of the best parts about being a ham operator is being able to talk to other like-minded people all over the world. There are many options for mobile ham operators, whether you're looking for a ruggedized, self-contained package that operates on battery power or something that runs on 12 volts and is more easily mounted in your vehicle.

This is probably the best noise blanker I have ever used. One of the great things about using a panafall is that we can see just how effective the noise blanker is. The red is the noise and when I hit the NB button the red disappears. The last station in the QSO is barely heard with the NB off, but when I click it, his audio comes through without any problem.

This is not your father's cw contesting. Memory keyers, laptops and software rule!
If you're new to Ham Radio or just haven't participated in a cw contest because you can't decipher 30wpm in your head, don't worry, there's a solution and it's great fun. After a few hours you'll be surprised at how well you can make out the callsigns and cw exchanges in your head.
This is a an excellent learning tool. I'm using N1MM logger, FLDIGI, a Lenovo laptop and an Icom 7000. I have two cables connected to my radio. One for sending cw and one for rig control. It's not hard to do and did I mention it's a blast!
This is a fun and exciting way to make a lot of contacts.
Word of Caution: Practice makes progress. Don't just jump in and start sending. Read the contest rules. Listen for a while, become familiar with the exchanges and practice sending into a dummy load. Ask for help if you're unsure. Fellow hams are happy to assist, and remember, Google is your friend.
