But oddly enough, these strikes haven't originated from Imagos Softworks, the developer of the Starr Mazer franchise, but from Alex Mauer, the composer of Starr Mazer DSP's music and sound effects. Why? Alex Mauer claims she was unfairly let go from her contracted position at Imagos, and has decided to attempt to press-gang YouTubers and Streamers into fighting her former employer on her behalf, by threatening their channels with copyright strikes. Naturally, the internet didn't take kindly to this, and contrary to Alex's original plans, have risen up in unity against her. It's not currently known who, if either of them, is in the right regarding the Alex Mauer/Imagos dispute. Due to the nature of Nondisclosure agreements, we may never know. But what we do know, is that Alex's forced involvement of unrelated third parties simply trying to create content about Starr Mazer DSP into this conflict is both unethical and illegal. Let's take a look at the curious case of Alex Mauer, on today's Indie-Fensible. I've been following the curious case of Alex Mauer as it's unfolded this past week, and was one of the many smaller voices speaking about the injustices Alex had perpetuated using YouTube and Twitch's DMCA notification systems. Unlike others, I decided to wait this situation out and put out one large video, rather than 5 or 10 shorter videos every 12 hours or so, covering each breaking news bit on the subject. That's not a dig against people like SidAlpha that DID do that, it's just not my style.
