He was born on December 7, 1879, in Kaya village in the Kushtia district of present-day Bangladesh. He was one of the principal leaders of the Jugantar party, which was the central association of revolutionary independence activists in Bengal. #baghajatin on October 20 Theatre's Jatin was a physically imposing figure, and he was known for his strength and courage. In 1906, he acquired the moniker "Bagha Jatin" (Tiger Jatin) when he single-handedly killed a Bengal tiger that had entered his native village. He was inspired by the writings of Aurobindo Ghosh and Bankim Chandra Chatterjee, and he came into contact with other revolutionaries such as Barindra Ghosh and Khudiram Bose. Jatin was involved in a number of revolutionary activities, including the Howrah Gang Case and the Alipore Bomb Case. He was also involved in the planning of the 1915 Ghadar Mutiny. In 1915, Jatin attempted to smuggle arms into India from Germany. However, the British authorities intercepted the ship carrying the arms, and Jatin was forced to flee to Balasore in Orissa. He was eventually tracked down by the British police, and he was killed in a gun battle on September 10, 1915. Jatin's death was a major blow to the Indian revolutionary movement.
