吃吃玩玩在馬六甲 爬高爬低 大快朵頤 啊 假期假期 Melaka 馬六甲｜AFamosa Water Theme Park 水上樂園 一日遊 1. Afarmosa theme park A Famosa theme park stood by menacingly each time i took the expressway up from Singapore to KL. It tried in vain for the last 30 years trying to lure me in there... and i pride myself never to succumbed to it all this while. Factually, theme parks never on my itinerary since I don't have too many friends into such venues. I very much resigned the fact I might never have the chance to step into A Famosa.... Finally in this trip, i found kakis who dragged me into this theme park. While I find the theme park tad too run down, after all I have been seeing that same water slides from the expressway for the last 30 years. At RM 58, it was easy on my pocket. And I made sure I enjoyed myself there. The trick to enjoy theme park is to make yourself a kid again. Yes I did. 2. Nancy kitchen Having Nancy's kitchen from where it first started, in Malacca. We are culinary spoiled by the many Nonya restaurants back home, so tend to raise bar a bit higher when comes to reviewing a very popular restaurants requiring us waiting for 1 hour. Like the immersing eating environment in a antique shop/ mini museum setting. Also like many nonya restaurants, these tend to branch out into selling all sorts of nonya tasting. I bought some and they are good. In my stomach already. As a non fish lover, I really love the fish. The chilli on it is impeccable . Fish is fresh. No nit to pick. The kangkong is OK good , though still a distance from my perfect one. If the prawns in the curry dish were fresh, that's my only complain in the otherwise pretty perfect curry gravy they swim in. Despite countless of attempts trying very hard to be a food connoisseur to ayam buah keluak dish, for some reason, I am unable to develop a feel for this dish. It tasted like a chicken stew to me... with buah keluak ? no difference after Nancy kitchen. I won't want to counter the very popular consensus of this restaurant. A must try.... but if the wait is one hour or more, I give it second thought.
