Blindsight is 2020: Gabrielle Bauer on the Covid dissenters
Who challenged the Covid narrative early on and how were they punished? Author and health journalist Gabrielle Bauer has published a book detailing key dissenters and what they suffered as a result of their heresy.
Blindsight is 2020: Reflections on Covid Policies from Dissident Scientists, Philosophers, Artists, and More was published earlier this year and showcases 46 thinkers who bravely pushed back, despite social and professional punishment.

Gene McConnell is an ex-john. At one time in his life, he had a porn addiction, was paying for sex regularly (while married), and eventually attempted to sexually assault a woman. Gene stopped himself, but the near-attempt and consequent arrest led him down another path, towards dealing with his past trauma and related sex, anger, and emotional issues, as well as towards a life of talking to other men about his past, how he changed his life, and what was at the root of his (and other men's) exploitative behaviour and dehumanizing view of women.
Today, he tours college campuses, speaking to young men about pornography and prostitution, is the founder of Authentic Relationships International, is a youth pastor, and is married with three children.
I found Gene through a documentary film produced by Exodus Cry called "Buying Her." He is featured among a number of ex-johns who speak candidly about what they did to women in the sex trade, why, and how it impacted their life and the lives of others.

I spoke with Ani O'Brien last week about why feminists have failed on free speech, her experience of fighting for women's rights in a world that wants to erase biological sex, and the challenge of dealing with intra-movement attacks. Like, me, Ani is fond of heterodoxy, and guilty of wrongspeak, putting her at odds with many feminists, and the left.
Ani is spokeswoman for Speak Up For Women (SUFW), a non-partisan organization that exists to protect and advance the rights and interests of women and girls in New Zealand.
In unrelated (but relevant) news, I live in Mexico currently, and this is the current situation with my hair. idk, I'm working on it. It's an adventure.

Jonathan Kay is a journalist; the Canadian editor and podcast host for Quillette; a National Post columnist; and an author, whose forthcoming Fall 2020 book will be about the history of American film exhibition. I spoke with him on Tuesday, June 16 about the current state of journalism, the New York Times meltdown over Tom Cotton's op-ed, the ousting of Wendy Mesley, the firing of David Shor, why we should consider defunding the CBC, and what a better model for media might be.
