Fish Were All Over This Flat + My First Time Catching A Spotless Red
At the end of my last trip out to Wappoo Creek I thought I might have figured something out when after about 5 hours I managed to get a couple good redfish to bite on a 2" baby vudu shrimp in the last 20 minutes or so. The shrimp in the creek right now are tiny so it made sense they might have a preference for small baits (aka match the hatch), so I went out the next day to test that theory. I brought out the baby vudu shrimp and a swing head ned rig from Bellaire Jigs. My instincts thankfully were right and I got on a great lure bite on this one particular flat I had found reds on on my last trip. I also caught my first spotless redfish and also nearly dropped my rod in the water while setting the hook on a fish.
Thank you all for watching and have a great day!

In this video I set out on one of the last hot days of the summer to do some fishing and try and see if I couldn't put some meat in the cooler. The wind was blowing but the bite was on from the get-go! I managed to fill the cooler and then some, keeping a few for the table and then releasing a whole bunch more. Come along with me and I hope you enjoy the action in this one!

That Spring weather has sure been putting a damper on my fishing plans recently and this video is no exception. I spent 2 days battling the elements between strong winds and huge rain storms to try out a couple of new things while inshore fishing. I spent the first day fishing from a new dock/pier I'd never fished from land before going after sheepshead. I broke out a cool portable sonar system called the Deeper Pro Plus (an old gift from my brother) and used it to find spots I thought fish would be held up on. Then on the second day I took the kayak out for a quick trip trying to hit a weather window before the rain came. I was using the Inshore Mackinaw Shad from EliasVFishing and even though the bite was hard and the rain came earlier than it was supposed to, I managed a couple nice fish before I had to get off the water. Looking forward to using it more in future videos!

In this video I go and explore some new potential fishing spots that I found on Google Maps! I managed to catch a couple fish but I did find a new local pond to fish which is very exciting! I will definitely be making more videos there in the future.

I went out to the neighborhood pond in search of some big pre spawn spring time bass. The bait I fished all morning was a weightless, texas rigged finesse worm and they were munching! I caught 6 really big bass and a few small ones in a little under 2 hours and it was a blast! My rig was a medium light setup with 8lb test so I had to keep the drag loose and play the fish. It was hard but the payoff was great. Let me know what you think and please enjoy!

This trip was one of those days where nothing seemed to be going right. I forgot some equipment in the car, I couldn't find any bait to cast net (and wasted a lot of time trying), and then nothing seemed to want to eat a lure. As a last ditch effort I beached the kayak, flipped some rocks and gathered some mud crabs and thankfully it paid off and made for some good action! I fished them on a Sheep Sticker jig from Bellaire Jigs on the bottom and caught a whole mix of inshore species with the average size being very good. Switching my tactics mid trip definitely saved my fishing trip and got me on a solid bite on a tough day!
Thank you all so much for watching and have a great weekend. I hope you all can make time for fishing!

This video is a few weeks old thus why I still have a mustache. I went out to explore Folly creek, a new saltwater creek that I'd never fished. I went into it with only my own Google Maps scouting repot and a bucket of fiddler crabs to help me out and I ended up finding a lot of fish my first time fishing this new area. It was a struggle for the first hour or two but I ended up learning a lot on this trip and had a great time!
I hope you all enjoy the video and if you have any other spots or techniques you'd like to see me try in the future please let me know down below. Have a nice weekend and remember to make time for fishing!

I got on the water with only a couple of hours to fish determined to get on a decent bite. I found some sheepshead early on in the trip with a few redfish mixed in, but the bite really started turning on around sunset. When the sun started setting the fish really started biting and that hot bite kept me fishing until after dark but man was it worth it! Hope you all enjoy the action.

I've been fishing with the DOA CAL 4" soft plastic jerk bait a lot recently on my kayak and doing very well. However, I was curious if the color I was using was really the most effective for the inshore coastal marshes of the Charleston Lowcountry. So I decided to put my two favorite colors to the test at my favorite spot on the Copahee Sound outside of Isle of Palms, SC.
I fished with two different colors of the same lure for 1 hour and compared the results, and they absolutely spoke for themselves. I used my two favorite colors: silver mullet and rootbeer chartreuse. The rootbeer chartreuse is the classic inshore lure color so I wanted to know if I should consider other options or not.
I hope the video is helpful for other people, I'm definitely glad I did it for myself! Let me know what you thought down below and if you'd like to see more tests like this, it was fun to make. Thanks for watching!

I had a couple hours after work to get on the water, and after 2 successful lure trips in a row on Wappoo Creek I decided to try and challenge myself. I broke out the ultralight spinning combo (KastKing Valiant Eagle 1000 reel and 7' UL Dawai Laguna rod) and a Bellaire swinging weedless ned rig and started casting along the grass on my favorite flat. Pretty immediately I started getting bites and I had an amazing evening out there with lots of drag pulled and several big redfish landed. I wasn't planning to go out after work that day, but I'm sure glad I did.
Thank you all for watching I hope you enjoyed the video. Remember to make some time for fishing!
