US Sends Migrant Back Through Barbed Wire
Heartbreaking footage shows the moment a crying migrant mother and her terrified baby make their way underneath the barbed wire fence of the fortified US-Mexico border. On the other side, they were stopped by the Texas National Guard and sent back under the razor wire, according to local reports.
The Mexico - US border is the deadliest land migration route in the world, with nearly 700 documented deaths or disappearances in 2022, according to the International Organization for Migration. According to reports, there has been an alarming increase in cases of sexual violence in some border areas, with this year's figures being the highest since 2014.
Border Patrol agents caught about 210,000 unauthorized migrants entering the US along the Mexican border last month, the highest number since December 2022. The total number of 2.2 million apprehended migrants in 2022 remains the highest annual number ever in US history.
