Rocket was used as a test subject by the High Evolutionary when he was still a newborn raccoon. The High Evolutionary's goal was to fill the Counter-Earth with anthropomorphic animals. He makes friends with three of the other people whom the High Evolutionary is testing; their names are Lylla, Teefs, and Floor. Rocket has intelligence and aptitude above that of the other animals, and he deduces a fault in the process of anthropomorphization, which enrages the High Evolutionary. They subsequently discover that after the High Evolutionary perfects the formula to anthropomorphize, they will not be a part of the new Earth that will be created. When the High Evolutionary becomes suspicious of an effort to flee, he executes Lylla, Teefs, and Floor. This infuriates Rocket, who attacks the High Evolutionary before running away.

It's April 1, and Bluto plays a series of "jokes" on Popeye, though of course they go beyond the bounds of acceptability, particularly once they get to the picnic grounds; Bluto puts gasoline on the fire he asks Popeye to light and swaps a beehive for the lemonade. Bluto then launches a cruel joke against Olive and frames Popeye. The capper: he replaces Popeye's spinach with a joke can, and runs off with Olive for some canoeing. But Popeye gets the last laugh with an inflatable sea monster.
