Imagine you need to play a video. It's already in the media layer, so you just drag and drop it onto the playlist where you want to play it.
While ProPresenter CAN do that, I NEVER do it that way. Why?

If you don't understand this, ProPresenter will always be a mystery to you. You'll get odd results, and will wonder why people like it so much: layers.
ProPresenter isn't like PowerPoint, or Keynote, or google slides. It works on a series of layers. You can change each one without affecting the others, except that opaque portions of layers above, hide layers below.
To illustrate this point, I went back to the 70s and 80s to use ancient technology that should make it clearer (no pun intended). ?.
