The new Sonic movie 2 trailer was more epic than expected, and packed with details that expand upon the universe of the first film. Armed with knowledge of the wider Sonic franchise, I have a lot to say and predict about the upcoming sequel. The availability of home media releases for Alvin and The Chipmunks cartoons has been a concern of the fanbase for a long time now. None of the series have ever been released on any format completely with every episode; and from a business perspective, it's hard to say if we'll ever get them that way. Robert Zemeckis is one of the most influential directors thanks to his films from the 80s and 90s. But you might be surprised to learn that at one point, he was supposed to direct an Alvin and The Chipmunk live action film with Universal Studios long before the 20th Century Fox films were ever made. Unfortunately this never came to pass, but it's an interesting topic that I don't hear mentioned very often in the Alvin and The Chipmunks fan communities. So based on Zemeckis' experience, what could we have expected to see if this hypothetical film by him was made?
