Iowa Interstate #513 Rock Island with 2 GP-38s #709 & 714
Wednesday, 3-28-12, was an early morning call from my friend who works for IAIS. The 513 had come through Bureau Junction, Illinois on the nights of 25th and 26th, but those were bad photo ops as it was at night. So this call today was great! I met my friend at the Hennepin Crossing (who was engineering the 513 on a NS coal run). He brought me over to the 513 so I could get some cool stills up close. I then waited for them to pull out- We also pass the area near Tiskilwa were the October derailment occurred. Note the lack of foliage, gone from the fire and the new Ballast laid down. I tried something different: I photographed through the "Fish eye" lens to try a different effect- Its subtle but noticeable- I also included the stills in with the video: Please tell me what y'all think! Hi guys! Here is a ProtoSound 2 upgrade I did to a Williams-Bachmann GP38. Rock Island had no GP38-2s with dynamic braking or that cab # - leave it to Williams to be inaccurate. Rock Island, Illinois was the site for the 2011 Train-Fest. On Sunday July 24, 2011 The only E5 left operating in the World, the Burlington Route Zephyr From the Illinois Railroad Museum made its way from Rock Island to Bureau Junction, Illinois. It was dressed-up as the "Nebraska Zephyr"
I followed the Zephyr from Tiskawa to Bureau, and then back to Sheffield, Illinois.
