Huge news coming out of China in regards to the metaverse and crypto as a whole. The sentiment around blockchain and digital assets seems to be shifting, as a broadcast was made on CCTV which spoke positively about crypto and outlined new regulatory guidelines for operators of digital currency trading platforms. This is in direct opposition to U.S. regulatory uncertainty due to the SEC not being able to provide clear guidelines. On top of this, a metaverse initiative backed by the Chinese government was announced which intends to lay down major infrastructure components that will enable the metaverse to become a multi-trillion-dollar economy. This is massive considering the amout of people China can bring into the virtual economy, which will push foward the entire industry at a much more rapid pace. Metaverse economy is predicted to be in the trillions by 2030, but in order for that to happen there needs to exist many more infrastructure components. A commerce solution that bridges the purchasing of physical goods from within the virtual space is one of those infrastructure needs. Boson Protocol ($BOSON) is working on providing exactly that with its protocol that generated rNFTs (redeemable NFTs). This way developers can leverage their SDK and tools to implement point-of-sale terminals in the metaverse like in Decentraland and allow users to spend money to buy real-world products and redeem them with the NFT.
