"Ace Magashule and his cronies of the radical economic transformation group (RET) will put up a fierce fight, but his days in the ANC will soon be numbered," says the political analyst Dr. Oscar van Heerden.  Van Heerden's prediction follows the high drama during the virtual meeting of the national executive committee (NEC) of the ANC.  The suspended Magashule, who was ordered to stand aside, because of allegations of corruption and a court case against him, got hold of a password to attend the meeting. However, he was ordered to leave the meeting as he had no legal right to attend it.  Magashule is currently suspended with full benefits, but this sort of defiance will soon see him being fully suspended from the party, says Van Heerden.  Magashule's suspension follows a resolution of the ANC that all party members officially charged with corruption should stand aside. Magashule faces fraud and corruption charges linked to the Free State asbestos project.  The former minister of State Security, Bongani Bongo was also kicked out of the meeting, because he faces fraud and corruption charges related to Mpumalanga land deals, says Van Heerden. According to Van Heerden Bongo is one of a handful of ANC members who was suspended from the ANC as a result of the standing aside resolution taken by the party. "People were very unfair towards president Cyril Ramaphosa, accusing him of indecisiveness up to now, but he now proved that he is a strategist with a bigger plan in mind," says Van Heerden. Van Heerden added that more supporters of the RET group will join the ranks of the Ramaphosa group in the coming days, which will strengthen the president's hand. Watch the video. ... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DXkYdWTec4c
