Judge Miriam Iappelli issued an order directing police to remove any remaining residents from the Casino dell'Aurora, seize ownership of the villa, replace the locks, and "get rid of or destroy" any remaining furniture or paperwork.
Casino dell'Aurora, commonly known as Villa Ludovisi, first opened its doors to the public in 1570. The princess and the remaining members of Prince Nicolo Boncompagni Ludovisi's first marriage have been at odds about who should inherit the palace. Since the 1960s, the Ludovisi family has called this house their own. Rita became the prince's third wife in 2009. The prince passed away in 2018.
A tiny room on the upper story of the house is where you'll find the painted ceiling. Michelangelo Merisi da Caravaggio, an Italian master painter, completed it. Jupiter, Pluto, and Neptune, along with a white horse, are depicted in this nine-foot-wide oil painting on plaster. Prior to this week, Princess Rita, her two young grandchildren, her housekeeper, and her daughter all lived in the villa. The home's estimated worth of 471 million euros ($533 million) when it was put up for sale in December 2021 according to a court ruling. I have been painting since I can remember. In my main profession I am a musician (instrumentalist, arranger, composer), but throughout my life I have also been involved in painting. As a teenager I painted comics or drew caricatures. Later I drew a lot from nature. It has always given me pleasure and sharpened my eye.
What is your artistic background, what techniques and themes have you experimented with so far?
My artistic themes are difficult to narrow down, because diverse and not fixed. In terms of techniques, I have painted watercolors or drawn only with pencil for many years, since about 15 years I work exclusively with acrylic paints. Earlier I painted mostly landscapes and cityscapes, later also portraits, people and still life. Especially faces fascinate me very much. There are also abstract attempts of mine, which I also enjoyed.
What 3 aspects distinguish you from other artists and make your work unique?
Each artist is unique with his work and differs from others. Sure, there are similarities between artists, but ultimately everyone has their own style. With some this own style is strongly pronounced, with others less so. It is difficult to judge this for oneself, that is the task of the viewer or art critic.

The highest court in the United Kingdom finds the Tate Modern's viewing platform to be an inconvenience.
Visitors to London's most visited art gallery have had a clear view of the apartments on the other side of the building for years. They may soon be unable to do so under any circumstances.
Millions of visitors to London's most popular art museum, Tate Modern, have a unique opportunity as of 2016: they may peer into the private residences directly across from the museum as though they were seeing pieces of art.
Visitors to the museum may peer inside dozens of lavish mansions through floor-to-ceiling windows from a platform constructed on the building's top floor. Observant art enthusiasts might see a resident of a million-dollar mansion doing mundane weekend tasks like eating breakfast or reading the newspaper.
The highest court in Britain ruled on Wednesday that visitors' use of the observation platform was "obviously a nuisance," even if they weren't there to peek into people's homes.
In an elegant London courtroom, the presiding judge, Lord George Leggatt, stated that "hundreds of thousands of visitors each year" visited the platform, and many of them snapped photos of the flats. He compared living in such a place to being on exhibit in a zoo, saying, "It's simple to picture how awful it would be for a regular person to live under such conditions."
In his 47-page ruling, he said that a lower court should reconsider the issue "to seek out the correct remedy." He stated that if the parties couldn't settle the dispute amicably, the court would have to decide whether or not Tate Modern should pay damages, whether or not access to the platform should be restricted, or whether or not another proposal from the museum would be more appropriate.
Tate Modern expressed gratitude to the Supreme Court "for giving this topic significant deliberation" in a statement issued on Wednesday. It said that it was unable to comment further while the lawsuit was pending.
The judgement, which had been widely awaited since a two-day hearing in December 2021, reversed two lower court decisions. There is "a price in terms of privacy" for purchasing a home in the Neo Bankside four-tower building, Justice Anthony Mann of the English High Court wrote in 2019. He suggested that the property owners hang sheer drapes.
The apartment owners' appeal was later dismissed by the Court of Appeal on the grounds that the issue was merely one of one property's view of another and was therefore not a nuisance. It stated, "No matter how big a problem a neighbor has, the law does not always have a solution for it."
In a verdict issued on Wednesday, Lord Leggatt and two other judges voiced their disapproval of such decisions. They argued that lower courts may have been reluctant to say that the private rights of a few wealthy property owners should prevent visitors to a major national museum from enjoying an unimpeded view of London.
It also claimed that the observation deck was not a "regular and normal" museum activity. To place the onus of fixing the problem on the people who were being harmed by the situation by telling apartment owners to buy sheer curtains was inappropriate. You can't just urge someone to get earplugs if they complain about noise, Lord Leggatt declared in court.
After receiving complaints from locals, the museum reduced the number of hours visitors could access the viewing platform overlooking the flats in an effort to deter curious onlookers. Workers in the gallery also began requesting that visitors refrain from photographing the exhibits.
In March of 2020, the coronavirus epidemic swept throughout the globe, forcing the closure of museums across Britain along with the viewing platform. The number of tourists is still far lower than it was before the pandemic, thus the attraction has not opened just yet.
The viewing platform, which is located in Tate Modern's Blavatnik Building, has gained international attention for reasons apart from the privacy conflict. A British teenager was sentenced to life in prison in 2019 for murdering a 6-year-old boy by hurling him off a train station. The injured young man was in London on a family holiday. The effects of his wounds will remain with him forever. Not once did anyone raise concerns about the platform's security.
Visitors to the museum on Tuesday expressed a range of perspectives on the investigation. Slovak visitor Monika Hogova was horrified when she realized the apartments were only a hundred feet away. 'There's no way I'd want to live there,' she exclaimed. What I'm saying is, "You could just watch me from where you are!"

Artist Mason Rothschild was found guilty of misleading consumers with his fur-lined knockoffs of Hermès's iconic Birkin bags, which he sold for over $1 million through his "MetaBirkins" photo series.
Hermès was awarded $133,000 by the jury for trademark infringement, dilution, and "cybersquatting," the illegal registration or use of another company's trademark.
According to the jury's interpretation of the First Amendment, Rothchild's use of the bag images was not protected expression.
The verdict, according to Rothschild's attorney Rhett Millsaps, was "a dreadful day for artists and the First Amendment." Reuters sought comment from Hermès representatives, but did not receive a prompt response.
All eyes have been on the case because it may provide light on the application of trademark law to NFTs, the specialized currencies on blockchain networks that are increasingly being used to establish ownership of digital artwork.
Luxury leather Birkin handbags by Hermès can cost upwards of tens of thousands of dollars.
Rothschild sketched one hundred cartoonish depictions of the animal, including one with a rainbow of shag fur and another with a green pelt and a red Santa cap.
Claiming that the artist was "a digital speculator who wants to make rich rapidly by copying" the Hermès name, Hermès launched a lawsuit against them.
According to Hermès' original complaint from January of last year, the Metabirkins brand "just takes" the famous Birkin trademark by adding the generic prefix "meta." The name alludes to the "digital metaverse" that is being promoted by industry leaders as the next great thing for making money online.
Rothschild (actual name: Sonny Estival) compared his use of the bags to Andy Warhol's iconic pop culture silk screens depicting enormous Campbell's soup cans. He explained that his sketches of the handbags were an absurdist satire on the over-the-top nature of the fashion industry.
I don't produce or deal in counterfeit Birkin handbags. After the lawsuit was filed, Rothschild wrote to the local community and said, "I'm doing artworks that show fictitious Birkin bags with fur on them."
Many brands have expressed interest in entering the metaverse so that they may profit from selling digital garments that avatars and other virtual persons might wear, according to Michelle Cooke, a partner at the legal firm ArentFox Schiff LLP who assists brands with trademark concerns.
Wednesday, she declared, "There's no doubt that this verdict is a significant success for Hermès and brand owners in general."
The jury's reasons for siding with Hermès remain unknown at this time. One thing they undoubtedly did consider, though, was how to show that Rothschild intended the MetaBirkins NFTs to be a money-making venture rather than a vanity endeavor.
She argued that the fact the jury reached a verdict after only one day of deliberation demonstrates that they had a firm grasp of the issues.
She said that the quickness with which the verdict was reached demonstrated that the jury was not slowed down by the fact that NFTs were at issue. According to the verdict, "current trademark regulations are flexible enough to protect the rights of brand owners with respect to NFTs."
But she warned that it will come up again as more companies began marketing their wares in the metaverse and more artists explored the boundaries of electronic art. A lawsuit, she suggested, might be filed on this issue.
She predicted that "tensions between brand owners and content owners" would persist even in the emerging digital settings.

The exhibition will be the first time that Renoir's paintings of the British island of Guernsey have been exhibited together since he painted them.
Show opens at Giverny's Musée des impressionnismes, then travels to Guernsey's Candie Museum.
It's possible that Guernsey, a British island, isn't as well-known for its arts as it is for being a tax haven for the very rich. This summer, however, a touring exhibition will debut on the island, showcasing the island's role as an inspiration for the French Impressionist painter Pierre-Auguste Renoir.
The 15 landscapes Renoir painted during his five-week stay in Guernsey in 1883 will be the centerpiece of the exhibition Renoir in Guernsey, 1883. Twelve of these pieces are on display in Guernsey thanks to the efforts of the charitable organization Art for Guernsey, which enlisted the assistance of Christie's to arrange loans from the National Gallery in London and the Cincinnati Art Museum in addition to private collections. In 2020, a group of local buyers led by Art for Guernsey founder David Ummels paid £443,250 (including costs) to acquire Picasso's Rochers de Guernesey avec personnages (plage à Guernesey) (1883) at Christie's London.
The exhibition will be on display at the Musée des impressionnismes in Giverny, France, from July 14 through September 10, before moving to the Candie Museum on the island from September 30 through December 15. The Musée d'Orsay's close relationship with the Musée des impressionnismes also played a role in securing these loans. The Giverny Museum's director, Cyrille Sciama, a longtime supporter of Art For Guernsey, curated the exhibition. In 2019, he visited the island to record talks regarding Renoir's feelings toward its scenery for the charity's Renoir Walk program. The scenery of Guernsey was staged to resemble Renoir's paintings, and Sciama gave accompanying talks in an effort to inspire people to follow in the artist's footsteps.
According to Sciama, Renoir's time in Guernsey was formative during a period when he was creatively stagnant due to boredom. More than 15 pieces are on display, all of which have some connection to Guernsey. His stay on the island liberated him, which resulted in a more unique sense of style.
The painting Marine Guernesey (1883) will not be on display during the Guernsey section of the exhibition. A Paris administrative court ordered the Musée d'Orsay to return the picture to the family of prominent French art dealer Ambroise Vollard in February. The image was stolen and sold to the Nazis during World War II. The painting was never intended for the Guernsey stop, but it will be included in the Giverny stop. Two years ago, the curator "told us that the painting couldn't leave France because a court decision was coming up," Ummels adds.
A larger event commemorating Renoir's voyage of 140 years ago will include the Candie exhibition. Events and exhibitions will be held at the recently opened Art for Guernsey gallery in the island's historic Old Quarter, as well as at the Priaulx Library and the Renoir Walk. Artists such as Banksy, Thomas Gainsborough, Francisco de Goya, Andy Warhol, and Renoir whose works are owned by locals will be included at the new exhibition.
Artists can participate in the Art for Guernsey residency program and use the island as a base while they create works for public exhibition. Ummels argues that the island's proximity to both the United Kingdom and France presents a unique opportunity to forge ties with each. Sciama shares this view. The value of art in promoting "tourism, culture, and children" lies at the heart of the cultural interaction between the two cities. According to Sciama, an official ceremony between the two cities' mayors is scheduled for this summer.
Artistic activity already thrives in Giverny. It features the artist's residence, which served as inspiration for many of his paintings, as well as the Impressionism museum and the Fondation Claude Monet. Ummels, on the other hand, thinks the exhibition and its surrounding setting present a potential for Guernsey to relaunch itself. In the 1800s, Guernsey served as a creative mecca for painters from Britain and France. He claims that since then the island has reaped financial benefits from granite, fruit, tourism, and, most notably, tax evasion. The island and its people are special to me, Ummels explains. "I believe art can help bring people together and provide an opportunity to demonstrate to the United Kingdom, France, and other countries who we are once more."
