The Rolex Day-Date 40mm was released in Baselworld during 2015. During my first controversial review of this 40mm Presidential from Rolex, I compared it to the 36mm Presi, which I still think is too small on my wrist. I also compared it to the 41mm Day-Date II.
That first review got me a lot of hate mail, so I'm hoping this one doesn't [or do I?]. Lol
During this review, I focus on the Day Date 40 vs the II.
Even though I do think that the DayDate 40 fits nicely on the wrist, I feel that the 41-millimeter model fits better.
In my opinion, instead of modifying the Datejust II and releasing the Datejust 41, Rolex should have come out with the Day-Date 41 as an upgrade. But what's done is done!

Crazy watches are exotic pieces that are not only amazing, but also VERY expensive! [Like the million dollar watch on this video!]
These are not just big boy toys for the uber rich watch collector, they are pieces that make a statement because of their crazy design and engineering. A lot of these timepieces have price tags of more than a million dollars!
These over-the-top conversation pieces sometimes are not even worn by their owners. Instead, they are kept tucked away like a priceless piece of art that you would sacrifice your wife over.
The examples of crazy watches on this video are all from the Jacob & Co ultra luxury brand. I did a prior video on Jacob & Co watches that you can also watch on our channel. Here's the list:
1) Opera Godfather Edition (Price: $270,000, limited to 18 pieces) – This triple-axis tourbillon is a piece of art with a miniature sculpture of the Godfather smoking a cigar in the center of the watch. At the press of a button, the watch comes alive, playing a piano version The Godfather theme song while the movement rotates. How sick is that! Definitely qualifies as a crazy watch!

The Patek Philippe 5711 40th Anniversary platinum edition is a stunning heavy hitter! It's the perfect suit watch or for formal wear.
I had already reviewed the chrono version of the 40th Anniversary Nautilus, the 5976, probably the largest wristwatch from the Patek Philippe that I've ever seen!
Even though I initially went bonkers when I reviewed the larger 5976 in rose gold, I think that this platinum non-chrono 5711-1P is actually the perfect size!
The Nautilus 5711 anniversary edition is limited to 700, so that's pretty exclusive. Even though Patek set a $113,000 retail price for this amazing watch, it's impossible to buy it for such a low price. The actual price of the Patek 5711/1P in the market is closer to the mid $200 thousands!
The rich, blue color of the 5711/1P's dial is truly remarkable to look at. The dial is also adorned with subtle baguette markers that will probably slide unnoticed even by the staunchest opponent of all things bling!

Despite difficulty across many markets, with luxury watches included, the support we've been receiving from other countries is truly inspiring!
Welcome to Episode 58 of our homemade grey market reality series, CRM Life. During this episode, we learn that a well-known jeweler was trying to sell a client a fake Audemars Piguet Royal Oak. Well, maybe it wasn't a fake watch 100%, but it definitely wasn't a fully Kosher transaction. For various legal reasons, we cannot disclose all the details behind this, but it makes us sick to our stomach and drives home the point of working with companies you can trust. Given that reputation is everything, I don't know why companies continue to take shortcuts in our industry!?
With the Dow registering its largest one-day drop since this whole global fiasco started during the first quarter of 2020, it's no surprise that people around the world continue to freak out and sell assets in search for liquidity. Being very correlated with the US stock market, the high end watch market has continued to see weakness across the board. Let's face it. Whoever tells you otherwise is trying to sell you something.
At the request of our Marine Corps Air Station fans in Tokyo, we added a few clips of our boating adventure to Miami's No Name Island (officially known as No Name Key). Thank you for your service guys and for all you do!
