Taro Balls | (九份芋圓) made by Taro, sweet potato is considered this Taiwanese dessert a healthy treat.
Taro is also known as ōo-á in Taiwanese or squatting owls in ancient times. It is a perennial herbaceous monocot of the Araceae family and the most widely cultivated edible plant in this family.
The Taro balls can be made by mixing mashed taro with water and sweet potato flour or potato flour, making the Taro balls more springy or softer respectively. The color of mashed taro makes the dessert appear crystal purple, yellow or grey.
This starch contains amino acids and omega-3 fats, which benefit your heart. Taro can improve digestion, lower blood sugar levels, improve vision, prevent certain cancers, help prevent heart disease, improve circulation, improve skin appearance, and much more.
