How To Turn On A Sprinkler Valve Manually | Rain Bird PGA Valve
In this video I show you how to turn on a sprinkler valve manually using the solenoid. You will turn the solenoid a quarter to half turn to the counter clockwise direction. This will allow the valve to open up and turn on the sprinkler heads to that zone. Then to turn it off, simply turn the solenoid clockwise until it stops. Don't crank it down too tight, just tight enough to get the valve to shut off. Be careful to not turn it too much when you are trying to turn the valve on, sometimes the solenoid will come out and then you have to shut the water off to get it back in right.

In this video you will see the simplest way to turn on a valve manually.
This is a Rain Bird PEB sprinkler valve and it can be turned on from the controller by power sent through the wire or it can be turned on manually by turning the solenoid a quarter turn to the left. It is an easy way to turn a valve on to check and adjust sprinkler heads or check for leaks.

This is a video of a Rain Bird Falcon rotor head in action. You can see how they spray and rotate. Notice also how the nozzle has a smaller opening that allows water to shoot out and land closer to the head. I really like how Rain Bird designs the nozzles in their rotor heads. The spray in very consistent throughout the entire spray pattern. These Falcons are great to use in big wide open areas and on sports fields.

Before you design and install a sprinkler system you need to check to see what the static pressure is at the property where the sprinkler system will be.
Static Pressure is the pressure of water when it is standing still and not moving. Dynamic pressure is the pressure of water when it is moving or in motion.
You can check the static pressure by using a pressure gauge on a hose bib.
