In Episode 42, Retro Media Talk goes back to Camp Crystal Lake to re-visit FRIDAY THE 13TH Part 3 in 3D.
This is the third installment directed by Steve Miner. This movie continues the story of the iconic killer, Jason Voorhees, as he returns to terrorize unsuspecting victims.
The film begins with a recap of the events from the first two movies, establishing the legend of Jason Voorhees. This time, the story revolves around a group of teenagers who decide to spend a weekend at a remote cabin at Crystal Lake. Unbeknownst to them, this seemingly peaceful location holds a dark and deadly secret.
As the group settles in, Jason, who has survived his previous encounters, makes his presence known. He begins a brutal and relentless killing spree, using his trademark hockey mask for the first time in the series. The terrified teens must fight for their lives as they become his prey, one by one.
Amidst the chaos, the film also explores the relationship between Chris Higgins, one of the young women in the group, and a mysterious figure from her past. This backstory adds an extra layer of tension to the unfolding horror.

“Baritone Guitar Washes” is a two-page Kontakt instrument designed as a powerful tool for detailed sound creation.
Body Layer
The Body layer contains the core guitar samples, in various pickup positions (Neck, Mid, Bridge) and playing styles (Harmonics, Straight, Ebow). These samples are looped/layered to create “swells” with close to infinite release times.
It also includes several instances of “pre-washed” samples, swell sounds that were recorded using custom delay and reverb settings on a Kemper Profiling Amp.
Sample start times, attack and release are highly customizable, allowing for anything from short, dry naturalistic pluck sounds as well as organ-like stab sounds (without the initial attack of the guitar pluck) via 10s risers that end abruptly to classic slow-attack and slow-release pad sounds.
Grit Layer
The Grit layer serves to add a distorted, dissonant, scratchy or bowed flavour. This can either be dialed in low in the mix for a sprinkling of darkness and texture, or dialed up to be a featured element.
Air Layer
The Air layer contains a few different instances of moving air (a household hoover, air blown across an Irish Low Flute) for some high-frequency/breath-like sizzle. This layer can be added to produce organ-type sounds (think Hammond or Wurlitzer) and hints of choir.

Swedish dark melodic metal masters Evergrey return with their 12th Album - dark and heavy, the Phoenix is rising! Gearing up for the release of their highly anticipated 12th album, Swedish progressive metal band Evergrey is at a point in their career that many of their peers can only dream about.
