After watching a dozen videos about how to change a throttle body in a jeep i decided to give it a go for myself. The dreaded P2111 code and lightning bolt showed up on the cluster and I paid $350 CAD for a new unit.
I changed the throttle body and did not drive off happily into the sunset.
It is an easy job for a DIY'er but sometimes things do not go according to plan. This is a simple 5 bolt 2 clamp setup that could be done by a blind monkey (really easy) but for some reason mine did not have a positive outcome.
A new code, P2173 suggesting a vacuum leak drove the vehicle into limp mode. I pulled it all apart, made sure I had a new gasket, clamps are tight, nothing else was removed. The intake manifold has three other lines but NONE of them were removed. After a week of running in circles there is still no joy.
Crappy Jeep product, OEM throttle body fail, vacuum leaks, mysterious, failed.
IMHO I think a throttle body should last more than 50 thousand miles (80 thousand KM). It is a really easy item to change, roughly 2 hours for the DIY'er, and takes a minimum of tools. I have redone it three times now and can do it in 45 minutes without any difficulty.
Maybe the TBIU is the real issue?
I guess I'll wait for the $75 dollar one from China to arrive and change this $350 dollar one from the local parts store.
If you have any other ideas do not hesitate to comment.
Blind monkey comments always welcomed!

With the new 2 axis gimbal added the flight characteristics have changed. The gimbal jammed and I crashed the quad into some trees losing all the rubber stabilizers...
