I want to talk a little bit about the omicron variant and what's been happening to South Africa with us getting essentially sanctioned by the whole world even though we essentially have a really really good infrastructure. Very sorry, a little bit nervous my first time calling it. Sam: No no what you're about to say is incredibly important and we actually had a clip that we were just about to play too about this so continue. David: Yeah so just the context I work in a non-profit organization in South Africa called curve com so I literally work in the space all day. and its effect that this is happening on both our ability to deal with vaccine hesitancy in South Africa is quite enormous. so there's this whole perception that we get you to know frankly it comes a bit from US misinformation that comes here there's a large group of sort of evangelical missionaries who push anti-abortion stuff. but at the same time, they push like kind of anti-vax sentiments and things like that. and a lot of what we're having to do to try and deal with anti-hesitancy in South Africa is to deal with trust issues. But by having this massive thing where our economy is not going to get hit, two of our biggest cities, Durban and Cape Town, require tourism for an enormous amount of its economy. and they're not going to get that income this year. and it happened last year because of the beta variant and okay you had trump then so we could sort of say fine you ... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y30Y0RPDD9Q
