Leadership is a privilege but also a responsibility. Leaders who are not healthy spiritually tend to mislead rather than lead like Jesus. It's important for leaders to take the time to examine themselves regularly in light of God's word and the movements of the Holy Spirit in their souls. Failure to do that will result in failure in leadership both in the church as well as in every arena of life.
1 The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing. 2 He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters, 3 he refreshes my soul. He guides me along the right paths for his name’s sake. 4 Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me. 5 You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows. 6 Surely your goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever. (Psalm 23:1-6)
Because the Lord loves us so much and He has chosen us by His grace to be with Him forever, it is only right that we should glorify Him by fully cooperating with His grace in saving us. This requires that we fully trust Him in all areas of our lives.

Main Idea: “The key to surrender is complete trust in the Lord.” (“Ang susi sa pagsuko ay lubos na pagtitiwala sa Panginoon.”)
How can you fully trust the Lord?
You must see Him as...
1. Your Pastor (v.1).
2. Your Provider (vv.2-3).
3. Your Protector (v.4).
4. Your Proponent (vv.5-6).

Hindrances to Faith | By Pastor Bong Baylon | RLCC
Date: Oct 27, 2022
Text: Luke 16:14-18
The good news of the kingdom of God is being proclaimed today and everyone is being invited to believe in Jesus so that they can enter into it. But not everyone is willing. They know it would involve some radical changes in their lives and they are not willing to do that. We need to understand what is hindering them.

1 Keep me safe, my God, for in you I take refuge. 2 I say to the Lord, “You are my Lord; apart from you I have no good thing.” 3 I say of the holy people who are in the land, “They are the noble ones in whom is all my delight.” 4 Those who run after other gods will suffer more and more. I will not pour out libations of blood to such gods or take up their names on my lips. 5 Lord, you alone are my portion and my cup; you make my lot secure. 6 The boundary lines have fallen for me in pleasant places; surely I have a delightful inheritance. 7 I will praise the Lord, who counsels me; even at night my heart instructs me. 8 I keep my eyes always on the Lord. With him at my right hand, I will not be shaken. 9 Therefore my heart is glad and my tongue rejoices; my body also will rest secure, 10 because you will not abandon me to the realm of the dead, nor will you let your faithful one see decay. 11 You make known to me the path of life; you will fill me with joy in your presence, with eternal pleasures at your right hand. (Psalm 16:1-11)
People try to find joy and happiness in the things of the world. But believers find their true delight in the Lord. However, because we are not trained to be thankful, a lot of believers feel that they too must find their joy and happiness in the world. They do not realize that everything we need for a life of joy and fulfillment is found in the Lord.

Christian leaders are called to serve and inspire others based on the ways and teachings of Christ. However, like all leaders, Christian leaders have blind spots that can impact their credibility. These blind spots are often hidden from the leaders but are obvious to the followers.

When we try to go deeper in our walk with Christ, the enemy also tries his best to deceive us. How can we tell when this is happening?

Do not live for acceptance. It will only lead to a lot of worry and anxiety. Live from God's acceptance of you in Christ. That will result to experiencing peace from God.

The Bible is very important for our spiritual walk and growth. Unfortunately, not everyone has an easy time reading or studying the Bible. Many people struggle due to language barriers, lack of access, or simply not having the time to study it. Despite these struggles, there are ways to overcome these obstacles.

It is a challenge to talk about religion and politics because these topics are often very sensitive and can be controversial. People often have very strong opinions about religion and politics and are not willing to compromise or see things from different perspectives. This can lead to heated debates and disagreements that can be difficult to navigate or negotiate. But it's always helpful to know what Jesus taught about politics. Perhaps, He alone can bring about the right balance to resolve the disagreements.

Avoiding Legalism | By Pastor Bong Baylon | RLCC
1 One Sabbath Jesus was going through the grainfields, and his disciples began to pick some heads of grain, rub them in their hands and eat the kernels. 2 Some of the Pharisees asked, “Why are you doing what is unlawful on the Sabbath?” 3 Jesus answered them, “Have you never read what David did when he and his companions were hungry? 4 He entered the house of God, and taking the consecrated bread, he ate what is lawful only for priests to eat. And he also gave some to his companions.” 5 Then Jesus said to them, “The Son of Man is Lord of the Sabbath.” 6 On another Sabbath he went into the synagogue and was teaching, and a man was there whose right hand was shriveled. 7 The Pharisees and the teachers of the law were looking for a reason to accuse Jesus, so they watched him closely to see if he would heal on the Sabbath. 8 But Jesus knew what they were thinking and said to the man with the shriveled hand, “Get up and stand in front of everyone.” So he got up and stood there. 9 Then Jesus said to them, “I ask you, which is lawful on the Sabbath: to do good or to do evil, to save life or to destroy it?” 10 He looked around at them all, and then said to the man, “Stretch out your hand.” He did so, and his hand was completely restored. 11 But the Pharisees and the teachers of the law were furious and began to discuss with one another what they might do to Jesus. (Luke 6:1-11)
Legalism is getting stuck with rules and regulations above everything else. Legalistic people want to be right instead of doing right. They want to major in the minors and minor in the majors. Unfortunately, legalism is very much alive in churches as well as in the lives of Christians everywhere. This damages relationships and makes the Gospel repulsive to people. We need to learn how to avoid legalism.
