The Gospel of God's Grace | By Pastor Bong Baylon | RLCC
Date: Nov 3, 2022
Text: Psalm 53:1-6
Some believers do not share the gospel because they don't think their friends or loved ones actually need it. Observing their lives, they conclude that these people are actually doing alright even without the gospel, so why bother them?
Day 1: Focusing on God's Instructions
Scripture: Genesis 21:1-21
Today, we center our thoughts on God's guidance in our lives. In Genesis 21, we see Abraham facing a tough decision regarding his son, Ishmael. When emotions ran high, God's instruction prevailed. Our meditation today encourages us to prioritize God's guidance over our emotions and relationships. In your own life, is there a situation where you need to focus more on God's instructions rather than your emotions? Take a moment to reflect. In prayer, ask for God's wisdom and strength to follow His guidance even when emotions are strong.

The church is called to spiritual unity, which is distinct from organizational unity. Without spiritual unity, organizational unity will not truly be effective. God desires His people to have a unified heart and mind.

Renewing Your Love for the Lost | By Pastor Bong Baylon | RLCC
Date: Oct 21, 2022
Text: Luke 15:11-32
Some of you used to be passionate about reaching out to the lost. For some reason, you are no longer as passionate as you used to be. There are many possible reasons why. We don't want to get into that. But what is important now is to ask ourselves: "How can our love for the lost be renewed?"

How can our love for the lost be renewed?
Three Steps
1. Understand what sin actually does to a sinner (vv.11-20a).
2. Appreciate the love and grace of God toward sinners (vv.20b-24).
3. Examine your own heart toward God and sinners (vv.25-32).
Central Idea: “Once God renews your mind, your love for the lost will also be renewed.” (“Kapag napanibago na ng Diyos ang iyong pag-iisip, ang pagmamahal mo sa mga nawawala ay mapapanibago rin.”)

The practice of silence and solitude holds great significance, as it leads us to a profound encounter with God. Within the depths of our souls, we yearn for this connection with the Divine. Silence and solitude provide us with the necessary space to quiet our minds and open our hearts to the presence of God. In this stillness, we are able to listen attentively to the whispers of our souls and experience a deep sense of peace and tranquility. Through this sacred practice, we come to understand that our souls are truly nourished by the divine presence of God.

24 After John’s messengers left, Jesus began to speak to the crowd about John: “What did you go out into the wilderness to see? A reed swayed by the wind? 25 If not, what did you go out to see? A man dressed in fine clothes? No, those who wear expensive clothes and indulge in luxury are in palaces. 26 But what did you go out to see? A prophet? Yes, I tell you, and more than a prophet. 27 This is the one about whom it is written: “‘I will send my messenger ahead of you, who will prepare your way before you.’ 28 I tell you, among those born of women there is no one greater than John; yet the one who is least in the kingdom of God is greater than he.” 29 (All the people, even the tax collectors, when they heard Jesus’ words, acknowledged that God’s way was right, because they had been baptized by John. 30 But the Pharisees and the experts in the law rejected God’s purpose for themselves, because they had not been baptized by John.) (Luke 7:24-30)
Whenever we place ourselves in a situation where we can encounter God's message, it's important to have the right expectations. Sometimes people don't expect anything, so they don't get anything out of the experience. Others expect wrongly, so they do not get what they expect. But with the right expectations, our encounter with God's message can be life-transforming.

Main Idea: “Having the right expectations will result in hearing and obeying God's message.” (“Ang tamang inaasahan ay magreresulta sa pakikinig at pagsunod sa mensahe ng Diyos.”)
Why is it important to have the right expectations when listening to the word of God?
Two Reasons
1. Our expectations determine our hearing of God's message (vv.24-27).
2. Our expectations determine our response to God's message (vv.28-30).

Our Confidence in God | By Pastor Bong Baylon | RLCC
Date: Oct 21, 2022
Text: Psalm 46:1-11
There are many things in this world that can terrify us. We feel so small and helpless in the face of so many overwhelming dangers. How can we live in this world with courage and confidence? Thankfully, we have our God who sustains and protects us. But we need to understand the basis of our confidence in God.

Fulfilling Our God-given Responsibility | By Pastor Bong Baylon | RLCC
14 How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them? 15 And how can anyone preach unless they are sent? As it is written: “How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!” 16 But not all the Israelites accepted the good news. For Isaiah says, “Lord, who has believed our message?” 17 Consequently, faith comes from hearing the message, and the message is heard through the word about Christ. 18 But I ask: Did they not hear? Of course they did: “Their voice has gone out into all the earth, their words to the ends of the world.” 19 Again I ask: Did Israel not understand? First, Moses says, “I will make you envious by those who are not a nation; I will make you angry by a nation that has no understanding.” 20 And Isaiah boldly says, “I was found by those who did not seek me; I revealed myself to those who did not ask for me.” 21 But concerning Israel he says, “All day long I have held out my hands to a disobedient and obstinate people.” (Romans 10:14-21)
So many people today have yet to experience true salvation. They remain separated from God and in danger of eternal damnation. But sometimes they are not to be blamed since no one has yet told them the Gospel or has helped them to understand it. This is our responsibility as believers in Christ or as the church. We are called to proclaim the Gospel and help people understand it. Once we have done that, people are now responsible for their responses to it.
