We visited the Venture Boxing Club this week with Tommy Dix to see coaches Sean Trodden and Danny Kelly and see how they, the club and the boxers are getting on. Tommy is the vice president of the club and takes a kean interest in their success. In the brilliant Venture Club the walls are adorn with old boxing pictures and posters from a bygone age of Merseyside Boxing. A few years ago I had the pleasure of speaking and filming gym founder the late Dennis Trodden about the pictures on the walls of some of the great fighters from the area. Sadly Dennis is no longer with us, but Tommy knows a thing or two himself and there is even a picture on the wall of Dixy himself from 1959 as a young boxer. Merseyside boxing history with Tommy Dix.
