We must learn to receive feedback. It's important for our spiritual growth and maturity. Without feedback, we can remain ignorant of our own faults or the areas where the Lord wants to transform us. 5 In the time of Herod king of Judea there was a priest named Zechariah, who belonged to the priestly division of Abijah; his wife Elizabeth was also a descendant of Aaron. 6 Both of them were righteous in the sight of God, observing all the Lord’s commands and decrees blamelessly. 7 But they were childless because Elizabeth was not able to conceive, and they were both very old. (Luke 1:5-7)
No one wants to experience disappointment. But they do happen and they happen all the time to everyone. The effects of any kind of disappointment vary widely depending on how we view it. Some may be challenged by it. They may try even harder to overcome and succeed. Others may become discouraged and they may give up altogether. Others may just accept it and surrender to the situation, going into "autopilot" for the rest of their lives. But, as followers of Christ, how should we view it?

Main Idea: “Although normal, disappointment must not become detrimental.” (“Bagamat pangkaraniwan, ang kabiguan ay hindi dapat humantong sa kapahamakan.”)
How should we view disappointment in life?
Three Helpful Reminders
1. They can happen even to those who serve God (v.5).
2. They are not necessarily because of sin (v.6).
3. They can be due to consequences or circumstances (v.7).

Levels of Commitment | By Pastor Bong Baylon | RLCC
17 He went down with them and stood on a level place. A large crowd of his disciples was there and a great number of people from all over Judea, from Jerusalem, and from the coastal region around Tyre and Sidon, 18 who had come to hear him and to be healed of their diseases. Those troubled by impure spirits were cured, 19 and the people all tried to touch him, because power was coming from him and healing them all. (Luke 6:17-19)
In any kind of ministry, there are different levels of commitment. We cannot expect everyone to have the same kind of commitment. We must minister to each person according to their needs. Of course, our desire must be to move people up to a higher commitment. But this depends on many factors. We cannot force it. The key is to ask the Holy Spirit to guide us so that we can minister to people according to where they are in their commitment journey.

Last Sunday, we learned that our mission is much bigger than our occupation. That’s why we cannot just focus on our jobs. We need to discover our mission in life. Our job is what we do to earn a living, but our mission is why we exist in this world. We need to live in view of our mission instead of just living for our occupation. But how do we know our mission? The calling of Abraham gives us a picture or pattern of what a mission from God looks like. Today, we want to look at Genesis 12:1-9 to understand “The Anatomy of A Mission from God.”

Day 4 of RLCC Daily Devo: The Promise of Blessing
Scripture: Genesis 12:6-7
"Abram passed through the land to the place at Shechem, to the oak of Moreh. At that time the Canaanites were in the land. Then the Lord appeared to Abram and said, 'To your offspring I will give this land.' So he built there an altar to the Lord, who had appeared to him."
Reflection:
As Abram journeyed, God reaffirmed His promise to bless him and his descendants with the land of Canaan. In response, Abram built an altar, acknowledging God's faithfulness and provision.
Application:
Even in the midst of uncertainty, we can trust in God's promises. Like Abram, we should acknowledge His faithfulness by building altars of gratitude in our hearts and lives, recognizing His blessings.
Prayer:
Dear God, thank You for Your promises of blessing. Help us to trust in Your faithfulness, especially when we face challenges and uncertainties. May we build altars of gratitude in our hearts, acknowledging Your goodness. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

The Nature of Life in the Spirit | Pastor Bong Baylon | RLCC
1 Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, 2 because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit who gives life has set you free from the law of sin and death. 3 For what the law was powerless to do because it was weakened by the flesh, God did by sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh to be a sin offering. And so he condemned sin in the flesh, 4 in order that the righteous requirement of the law might be fully met in us, who do not live according to the flesh but according to the Spirit. 5 Those who live according to the flesh have their minds set on what the flesh desires; but those who live in accordance with the Spirit have their minds set on what the Spirit desires. 6 The mind governed by the flesh is death, but the mind governed by the Spirit is life and peace. 7 The mind governed by the flesh is hostile to God; it does not submit to God’s law, nor can it do so. 8 Those who are in the realm of the flesh cannot please God. (Romans 8:1-8)
Sin will always prevent us from obeying the law. Therefore, we will always end up as objects of God's wrath. Spiritual death and condemnation will always be the result of all our efforts if we continue to pursue righteousness in our natural state (i.e., in the flesh). This is the reason why we need to be saved. Through Christ, we can be saved. Through faith in Him, we are transferred into a new realm of life, which is life in the Spirit. We need to understand what that means.

Living in God's Presence | By Pastor Bong Baylon | RLCC
Date: Oct 26, 2022
Text: Psalm 48:1-14
This psalm is about Mount Zion. Since we are not Jews and we don't have the historical background to appreciate what Mount Zion meant, we may not fully grasp the full implication of this psalm. But the early church understood what Mount Zion symbolized. It symbolized the presence of God which is now made accessible through Jesus (see Hebrews 12:22-24).

Renewal is the process of revitalizing or rejuvenating something. The word "renew" means to make something new again, i.e., to restore a former state. While physical renewal is important, there is another more important type of renewal found in the Bible — "spiritual renewal". Overall, the Bible emphasizes the importance of spiritual renewal in starting a new relationship with God, maintaining a strong and vibrant faith, and continuing as a follower of Christ. Jesus is the only One who can bring this kind of renewal into our lives from beginning to end.

38 Jesus left the synagogue and went to the home of Simon. Now Simon’s mother-in-law was suffering from a high fever, and they asked Jesus to help her. 39 So he bent over her and rebuked the fever, and it left her. She got up at once and began to wait on them. 40 At sunset, the people brought to Jesus all who had various kinds of sickness, and laying his hands on each one, he healed them. 41 Moreover, demons came out of many people, shouting, “You are the Son of God!” But he rebuked them and would not allow them to speak, because they knew he was the Messiah. 42 At daybreak, Jesus went out to a solitary place. The people were looking for him and when they came to where he was, they tried to keep him from leaving them. 43 But he said, “I must proclaim the good news of the kingdom of God to the other towns also, because that is why I was sent.” 44 And he kept on preaching in the synagogues of Judea. (Luke 4:38-44)
When a person comes to faith in Christ for the first time, he or she is usually very zealous. He or she shares his or her faith in Jesus to friends and loved ones alike with boldness and passion. But after a few years, something happens. He or she stops sharing. Why? There could be a lot of reasons. But regardless of the reason, we must never stop sharing the Good News.

Main Idea: “Sharing the Gospel should always be our passion.” (“Ang pagbabahagi ng Ebanghelyo ay dapat simbuyo ng ating damdamin palagi.”)
Why should we keep on sharing the Gospel?
Three Reasons
1. To restore people (vv.38-39).
2. To rebuke the enemy (vv.40-41).
3. To reach the lost (vv.42-44).

Confidence in the Gospel | Pastor Bong Baylon | RLCC
31 What, then, shall we say in response to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? 32 He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all—how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things? 33 Who will bring any charge against those whom God has chosen? It is God who justifies. 34 Who then is the one who condemns? No one. Christ Jesus who died—more than that, who was raised to life—is at the right hand of God and is also interceding for us. 35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword? 36 As it is written: “For your sake we face death all day long; we are considered as sheep to be slaughtered.” 37 No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. 38 For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, 39 neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord. (Romans 8:31-39)
We live in a world where so many bad things can happen and they do happen. This is the reason why most people are anxious or afraid. In fact, most of the things that people do in the world are intended to relieve them of their fears or worries. But believers in Christ are secure in their relationship with God. They know they can be confident because God is on their side. We need to understand this.
