A cinematic slice of Hanami this year. Tenjinshita park, a little spot on the Banks of the Arakawa River with a mere 60 cherry trees rose to the top of my favorite hanami spots list. Beating out Morioka Castle (with its epic vews of Morioka City) in Iwate and Akagi senbonakura (1000 cherry trees) in Gunma. Both times I went there this year, I intended to stay an hour or two and I ended up staying till after the sun went down. I've wanted to capture the march of the Tokyo penguins for a while. Because it wasn't quite as impressive a it is in winter but with my trips to the capital or anywhere else for that matter, these days, only being when I have to go to/through for work, I have to take the opportunities that present themselves.
