My high mileage Volvo S80 was juddering quite a bit when pulling away. A few viewers suggested that the engine mounts were due for replacement, so I bought 4 of them. It did made a difference!Find out how I’ve done it.
Please note that some of these mounts are specific for the cars with the TDI engine (D5252T), so they may differ from other models.

Since I bought this car with no service history, it would be wise to create the history myself by doing a major service.
In part 1, I'll be looking at the condition of the usual service items and replace them. Things like the air filter, spark plugs and pollen filter (or if you prefer to call it, cabin filter) are covered in this video.
My car is a Zetec version but might apply to Studio, Ghia, Titanium or RS. However, the spark plugs and the air filter in particular are for the petrol versions.

When I was replacing the front brakes on my wife’s Focus Mk3, I noticed that the bottom of both front spring have snapped. A common thing these days, but it can be done on your driveway with a few tools.
Ford quoted me early £500 to replace both, but I’ve done it for just under £100 and using original Ford front coil springs.
Please be very careful when dealing with springs as they can be dangerous if not handled properly with proper safety gear, conditions and tools.
This procedure can also me applied to the Focus MK2, as well as the mk2 Volvo S40, V50 and C30 as they share a very similar suspension setup and but may differ on the top mountings.
